PROTECTION AGAINST OVERVOLTAGE

A lighting device installed in a standard elec-trical system may be subjected to voltagefluctuations and external disturbances due to different factors such as discontinuous loads on the line, faults on the lines (upstream or downstream) and atmospheric electricaldischarges (in outdoor installations). In those LED installations where the electronic com-ponents are predominant, an adequate resis-tance to surges is synonymous with reliability and proper functionality. Thanks to the research and the experimenta-tion performed in its own laboratories, AECoffers its customers customized solutions ac-cording to every specific installation.

CLASS I: protection up to 10kV.CLASS II: protection from 5kV up to 9kV.

For more information about the protection against overvoltage, please download the technical report at

Possibility to install a twilight switch that allows to automatically turn the unit on at sunset and to turn it off at sunrise.

FC (PHOTOCELl) OPTION

Light flux regulation using power line communication.Light flux reduction can be associated with punctual and remote monitoring of the individual device via the power line com-munication remote control. This option, used in conjunction with an LCU (Light Control Unit), makes it possible to control an individual lighting point, allowing the creation of customised lighting scenarios. More complex remote control panels can be used as part of a wireless or GSM/GPRS network, to remotely monitor the energy consumption of the system and provide fault indications as necessary without the need for on-site maintenanceprocedures.

The tables below describe the flux and output power of the available versions. These parameters are necessary in order to guarantee a correct comparison of the luminaire performance. In particular, the luminaire efficiency (expressed in lm/W) must be calculated as the ratio between the output luminous flux of the luminaire and the power absorbed by the input power supply unit. For the sake of completeness the tables also show the data of the nominal flux and power of the used LED.

Aluminum, like many non-ferrous and plas-tic substrates, requires a mild microscopic surface etch prior to coating to promote im-proved adhesion. This can be accomplished simply and safely, with the right chemistry additives in your pretreatment chemistry. The industry standard chemistries used to micro-scopically etch aluminum have been primari-ly acids such as Phosphoric, Sulfuric or Chro-mic acids, many times used in combination, somewhere in the pretreatment process with a fluoride containing additive to promote the etch. Sigma uses the highest standard chem-icals enviro-friendly to achieve the best pos-sible results.

The Seal is many times the last process ap-plied prior to a low conductivity, Deionized, Distilled or Reverse Osmosis conditioned wa-ter rinse. The purpose of the Seal process is to completely passivate and seal any micro-scopic voids on the surface from the environ-ment prior to coating. This helps to addition-ally improve adhesion and inhibit corrosion. The Seal process can be accomplished in many ways with today’s technological ad-vancements. In some of the latest pretreat-ment technologies, the seal and passivation steps are accomplished in a single step during the conversion coating application process. Tri-valent chrome (which is thought to be a safe alternative to the hexavalent chrome), non-chromic seal such as molybdate and other organic, inorganic and nano-polymer products are used depending on an applica-tion.
