A special welcome to Zane Goodman who started at Ranzau School this week. Parent Coffee Morning: There will be a coffee morning next Friday, 2 November after the morning assembly at the café across the road at the church. Ranzau Connect invites all parents, new or existing to come along. Learner Qualities: Take Risks “To do something even if you are nervous.” When we take risks in our learning we have a go even if it may mean we are not successful. It is by attempting and the process that we go through that is valuable learning. Please feel free to use this language with your child and to ask them about our learner qualities. The more our students are able to understand what learning is and what it looks like, the more successful they will be at it. Mathematics Success. Congratulations to our Year 5/6 students who took part in the ICAS Maths test. This is done throughout NZ, Australia and Asia. A special congratulations to: Adam Hobbs, Ben Jenner, Caden Nikora, Eli Newton, Micaiah Sampson & Poppy McPherson (Top 15%), – Credit and Jasmine Phillips– Merit (Top 20%), SUMMER SPORTS FEES NOW DUE: Volleyball $35.00 and all cricket $25.00. OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD: Thank you to all those families who have sent along gifts for our Christmas Child shoeboxes. We are sure there will be some very excited children when they open their boxes. We are sending the boxes next week, if you would still like to add a small gift please send your gift along as soon as possible. We would also be grateful for any gold coin donations as it costs $10 to post the boxes. Thank you for making a child happy. From the Community Council End of Year: Our final day for 2018 is Friday 14 th December. Our final Year 6 assembly is scheduled for 12.00 noon. School closes at 12.30 pm. School will be open again on Monday 17 December until 12pm. Students who attend will assist with final packing up, including relocation of resources, re-organisation of rooms and general tidying. Attendance is not compulsory.
