TRANSCRIPT
This week we welcome Bank of Queensland owner/manager Melissa Green as our guest speaker. It will be interesting to hear her perspective on the local banking industry.
Last week Club member Eddie spoke about Facebook and it was pleasing to welcome five Interactors from Mercy College along with Brendon Gunning.
The Interactors will run the drinks stall at the Fair and also the face painting stall on the Friday evening.
After months of planning, the annual Christmas Fair is on this Friday and Saturday at Col Story Rotary Park at the City Gates. It is our largest fund raising event of the year and has been going for 40 years. It isimportant club members show strong support and we will be hoping for fine weather which will contribute to a successful result.
The District Conference and AGM at Agnes Waters was postponed due to flooding and a new date has not been finalised. There is a lot of work involved in organising such an event and the weather is always the great unknown. We should know soon on the new timetable.
A Melbourne Cup evening is planned for November 6and it is a partner’s night. This is also a goodopportunity to ask friends and potential members along. It is always an enjoyable evening so let’s try to encourage new membership.
The Council and the Mackay Women’s Centrebarbecues were supplied by the Club and thank you to those members who attended.
The Board has made a decision to investigatebuying or building a storage container to store all of the Club’s inventory in the one location. Could all members record all inventory etc in their possessionand email the information to Ian Ritchie. We willdiscuss this Wednesday. Please make this a priority so we can sort this out once and for all.
November is Rotary Foundation month and Rotary Foundation Committee Chair Nick Harry will be our guest speaker next week.
Let’s make a difference.
