Energy savings with ISO 50001 certification

Initial situation The manufacturing process requires a high use

of energy. ISO certification 50001 should be introduced Since 2013, a proof that the company saves

energy has been required.

Challenge

A system is required that, visualizes consumption data transparently can be installed by own employees can be extended flexibly

Certification Successful ISO certification on 1.7.2012

Identification of the largest energy consumers

Installation

In order to determine the energy consumption, the S-Energy system of SBC will be installed:

Data acquisition via 40 S-Bus energy meters Acquisition of main distribution via pulse counter,

connection via PCD7.H104SE modules Data evaluation and visualization via 10“ Energy Manager

Panel Transfer of data to Siemens controller via MPI

Connection pulse counter via PCD7.H104SE Gateway

Data management via Siemens controller

Transparent illustration of consumption values

Extension The energy consumption is illustrated transparently via

a 10“ Energy Manager Panel Employees access the visualization on the panel with

their PC via the company network

Management level The data out of the Siemens controller are displayed

and analyzed via the management level.

Demonstration on Touch-Panel or directly via Browser

Extension from S-Energy to S-Monitoring

Extension Increasing requirements force the operator to extend the system. Connection of additional meters via pulse, Profibus and M-Bus Installation of PCD3.M5560 with S-Monitoring App. The Energy Manager will still be

used as a web panel and accesses the visualization in the PCD3 controller

This is what the user says about the SBC system

The manager of the electrical workshop, did the installation himself.

Previously, we had only half-hearted actions without any proof!

The requirements are constantly increasing. In the beginning it was not exactly clear, what is really needed. Great that S-Energy is flexible and extendible!

Only due to the installed meters, we became aware of the energy demand!
