Sir Isaac Newton and Charles Darwin were pioneers of modern science, whose discoveries revolutionized modern life. Naturalist Charles Darwin was born in Shrewsbury, England, on February 12, 1809. Darwin came from a long line of scientists. His father, Dr. R.W. Darwin, was as a medical doctor, and his grandfather, Dr. Erasmus Darwin, was a renowned botanist. His father hoped he would follow in his footsteps and become a medical doctor, but he couldn’t stand the sight of blood While Darwin was at Christ's College, botany professor John Stevens Henslow became his mentor. After Darwin graduated Christ's College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1831, Henslow recommended him for a naturalist’s position aboard the HMS Beagle. The ship, commanded by Captain Robert FitzRoy, was to take a five-year survey trip around the world. The voyage would prove the opportunity of a lifetime for the budding young naturalist. Over the course of the trip, Darwin collected a variety of natural specimens, including birds, plants and fossils and he had the unique opportunity to closely observe principles of botany, geology and zoology Darwin's exposure to specimens all over the globe raised important questions. Darwin noticed similarities among species all over the globe, along with variations based on specific locations, leading him to believe that they had gradually evolved from common ancestors. He came to believe that species survived through a process called "natural selection," where species that successfully adapted to meet the changing requirements of their natural habitat thrived, while those that failed to evolve and reproduce died off On November 24, 1859, he published a detailed explanation of his theory in his best-known work, On the Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection. Charles Darwin died at his family home, Down House, in London, on April 19, 1882, and was buried at Westminster Abbey. On his deathbed he slightly affirmed that his theory has a lots of weak points.

His father hoped he would follow in his footsteps and become a medical doctor, but he couldnt stand the sight of blood While Darwin was at Christ's College, botany professor John Stevens Henslow became his mentor. After Darwin graduated Christ's College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1831, Henslow recommended him for a naturalists position aboard the HMS Beagle. He came to believe that species survived through a process called "natural selection," where species that successfully adapted to meet the changing requirements of their natural habitat thrived, while those that failed to evolve and reproduce died off On November 24, 1859, he published a detailed explanation of his theory in his best-known work,On the Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection. Charles Darwin died at his family home, Down House, in London, on April 19, 1882, and was buried at Westminster Abbey. On his deathbed he slightly affirmed that his theory has a lots of weak points.

SirIsaac Newton was born January 4, 1643, in Woolsthorpe, United Kingdom. He was a physicistandmathematiciandescribed in his own day as a "natural philosopher". Newtons mother wanted Isaac to become a farmer, but Isaac had no interest in farming exams and failed. For him science was just a way to understand the winding paths of the life. Actually he owned more books on historical subjects than on science. He formulated his Three Laws of Motion. The first law, known as the law of inertia An object at rest will remain at rest unless acted on by an unbalanced force. An object in motion continues in motion with the same speed and in the same direction unless acted upon by an unbalanced forceThe second law states that acceleration is produced when a force acts on a mass ergo, the greater the mass of the object, the greater the force required to accelerate it. The third and final law states that for every action, there is an equal but opposite reaction. He also formulated his law of Universal Gravitation in thePrincipia, which states that every point mass attracts every single other point mass by a force pointing along the line intersecting both pointAdditional contributions include his prediction that the Earth was likely shaped as an oblate spheroid,

Isaac Newton suffered two nervous breakdowns. Newton was notorious for his bad temper and conflicts with other people, in particular Hooke and Leibniz. German mathematician Gottfried Leibniz publicly accused Newton of plagiarizing his research, claiming he had discovered infinitesimal calculus. Also upon the publication of the first edition ofPrincipia, Robert Hooke immediately accused Newton of plagiarism, claiming that he had discovered the theory of inverse squares and that Newton had stolen his work.

Isaac Newtonproduced many works that would now be classified asoccult studies. These works exploredchronology, alchemy andBiblical interpretation. As a practicing alchemist, Newton spent days locked up in his laboratory, and not a few have suggested that he finally succeeded in transmuting lead into gold.Perhaps that explains one of the oddest things about his life. At the height of his career, instead of accepting a professorship at Cambridge, he was appointed Director of the Mint with the responsibility of securing and accounting for England's repository of gold.
