What is Vedic Math? Vedic math is ancient system of

mathematics consisting of 16 sutras oraphorisms.

They were presented by a Hindu scholarand mathematician, Bharati KrishnaTirthaji Maharaja, during the early part

of the 20th century.[1]

Tirthaji claimedthat he found the stras after years ofstudying the Vedas, a set of sacredancient Hindu texts.

Tirthaji claimed that there were sectionsof the Atharva-veda labeled ganitastras or mathematical formulae that

mysteriously made no obvious referenceto mathematics.[8]

Tirthaji was the 143rd Shankaracharya ofthe Govardhan Peeth, Puri, Orissa, India
