Launched by South Africa, South Korea and Germany at the Petersberg Climate Dialogue in 2010, the Partnership encourages countries to step up mitigation ambition and carry out the transformation to a sustainable low-carbon society. To this end, the Partnership facilitates the exchange of mitigation-related experiences and MRV between climate negotiators, policymakers and practitioners from more than 50 developing and developed countries.

• In order to encourage more exchanges between peers in the partner countries the Partnership carried out an analysis of good practices in cooperation with the UNDP LECB Programme
• Good Practice Analysis documents 21 examples of mitigation-related good practice worldwide that demonstrate how LEDS, NAMAs and MRV systems are being effectively designed and implemented across a range of national contexts
• In the context of its various capacity building formats the Partnership invites interested countries to identify options for more in-depth learning on the good practice cases.

Regional workshop and peer-exchange: Francophone Regional Workshop on MRV of NAMAs 17-18 December 2013, Tunisia
• Host: Tunisian National Energy Agency (ANME) • Participants: 63 policy makers from 17 mostly French
speaking African countries (Tunisia, Cote d’Ivoire, Togo, Cameroon, Mauritania, Senegal, Guinea-Bissau, Kenya, Liberia, Mali, Gabon, Benin, Burkina Faso, Congo, Ghana, Egypt and Morocco)
• Objective: options and elements of MRV of NAMAs, including their advantages and disadvantages; exchange of experiences between experts and decision makers from different countries on MRV of NAMAs in different sectors; first step in the establishment of a French speaking group of experts which will continue to exchange on their areas of interest.

Regional workshop and peer-exchange: ‘Latin American Regional Workshop: MRV of NAMAs as a Key Element of National MRV Systems’ 6–8 March 2014, Mexico City, Mexico
• Host: Peruvian Ministry of Environment (MINAM)
• Participants: more than 100 policymakers and technical experts from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Mexico, Peru and Uruguay.
• Objective: Exchange good practices and build capacities for the development of systems for the MRV
of NAMAs in Latin America and the Caribbean; explore potential similarities and key differences between MRV processes applicable to facility-level greenhouse gas (GHG) reporting and NAMAs;
• discuss issues related to capturing the impacts of the NAMAs on national GHG inventories and reflect this in national GHG reporting.
