1.    Aims and GoalsThe innovation criteria is included in EcoHarmony as an extra rating to reward and recognize innovative strategies that improve the sustainable performance. EcoHarmony selects projects which are investing in infrastructure and the use the technology, to create greater urban development for the community.

To encourage innovation for residential the project need the collaboration of developers, designers and engineers to develop efficient solutions. This criteria rewards project that obtain the following goals:

2.    DefinitionTo recognize innovative solutions and initiatives for sustainable design, construction and implementation. Share technology and the best practices to residential buildings is also consider to prize this criteria.

6.   Sub-criteria6.1 Sustainable technology; apply technologies and innovate strategies that are original or

adopted for others disciplines or industries to obtain a remarkable outcome. The use of passive systems also can be considered in this point.

6.2 Pioneering technologies; for those initiatives which are outside of the frameworks of EcoHarmony, which reduce the footprint or greenhouse emissions can award ten points extra.

Evaluation

In the Performance stage each innovation score is reward under an analysis of improvement and sustainable approach. Each project can claims ten point to consider in the total score of EcoHarmony, to achieve that it is necessary demonstrate these points:

5 point awarded for apply new technologies or adopt equipment.

To validate the social and economic benefit, the project need to provide a study of implementation and data report conducted by EcoHarmony consultant to claims five points..

Pioneering technologies

5 points awarded for Optimize and create an efficient initiatives which reduce the footprint or greenhouse emissions

To validate the reduction greenhouse emissions, the project has to demonstrate at least 12 months of performance. (5 points)

The design and research of new technology or adaptation, also is considered in this evaluation. (2 points)
