Blizzard scans its products once a minute and uses analytical

insights to detect defects or variances from production plans

53% reductionof manufacturing pass-through time

Smarter Analytics

Business Challenge: Blizzard experienced production downtimes related to defects that sporadically occurred in the course of

production. By improving its ability to detect

and prevent these defects, the company aimed to minimize production downtime related to manufacturing flaws.

The Smarter Solution: Blizzard’s response was to build a near real-time production management system that uses sensors to

capture in-process product data and embedded analytics to pinpoint manufacturing flaws as they happen. This enables floor

staff to address the problem proactively and keep downtime to a minimum. What’s more, by predicting which ski models are

prone to certain product defects, the company’s machine operators can change settings or procedures to circumvent them in

the future.

Three capabilities differentiate cognitive systems from

traditional programmed computing systems…

…. allowing them to interact with humans.

Cognitive systems

understand like humans do.

They reason. They understand

underlying ideas and concepts.

They form hypothesis with

confidence score. They

infer and extract concepts.

They never stop learning getting

more valuable with time.

Advancing with each new piece

of information, interaction, and

outcome. They develop

“expertise” assisted by humans.

Hello! Gordon's pizza?

No, signore qui è Google’s Pizza.

Quindi è un numero sbagliato? Mi scusi ...

Nessun errore, signore, Google ci ha comprato.

OK.

Ho pagato in contanti.

dichiarata.

Frasi irripetibili ..... ,-)
