Follow the BC SPCA Victoria Branch on Facebook for exciting stories and adorable animals! facebook.com/bcspca.victoria ü ANNUAL CHRISTMAS BAKE SALE - Saturday and Sunday Dec 2 & 3 from 10 AM to 3 PM each day. 6 raffle baskets – dog, cat, kids, just for her, just for him and night out. Profession quality pet photos with Santa, silent auction, face painting and other kid activities, used book table, baking (including pets and vegans), gently used and new dog coats, collars, leashes, harnesses, soft crates, SPCA merchandise, handmade cat toys, live music and information tables on Victoria Community Council and WildARC. This event is very popular so come early and enjoy. Latethissummer,theBCSPCAcommissionedapublicartinstallationtoraisepublicawarenessaroundtheimportanceofspayingandneuteringcats.TheinstallationwasthentakenontheroadthroughouttheVictoriaareainSeptember,showingupatvariousshoppingmallparkinglotstoconnectandengagewiththelocalcommunity.VolunteersfromtheBCSPCAVictoriabranchaswellastheCommunityCouncilwereinvolvedwiththisthroughoutthemonthofSeptember.Theinstallation,whichisportable,isamassivewoodboxmadetolooklikeacardboardbox,andhas“FreeKittens”paintedonit.Thiswouldinvitepeopletolookinsidewheretheywoulddiscovernotkittensbutfactsaboutwhyitissocriticaltospayorneuter.Wegotsomesurprisedreactions!Wefoundmanypeoplewantedtotalktous,whetherrainorshine,anditgeneratedsomegreatconversationsaboutcatsandanimalwelfareoverall.
