Coast to Coast Dachshund Rescue, CCDR, was formed in August 2000 as a national 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. We are dedicated to rescuing Dachshunds and Dachshund mixes all across the country and will help all Dachshunds regardless of health or age. CCDR has been very successful in achieving the goal to find loving families and forever homes for the dogs we’ve fostered. CCDR has successfully placed over 4000 dogs since its start, which means that there were 4,000 dogs saved from unfortunate circumstances and given a second chance at a wonderful life.

We can’t continue our mission without the support of our wonderful members, foster homes, and volunteers that assist in providing awareness, fund raising, and outreach efforts like Cape Cod Doxie Day. Over 50% of our expenses are funded through donations - the cost of taking in a rescue dachshund by CCDR, having a full veterinary exam done for each, making sure they are up to date on all their vaccines, spaying or neutering, and any other medical treatment necessary generally exceeds the adoption fee that CCDR receives for them. CCDR depends on the donations of the public and fund raisers to make up the difference for vetting our dogs.

If you would like to adopt a dachshund we would love to help you. We are a very caring and dedicated group of dachshund lovers. You can see a full listing of all our dogs currently in foster care by visiting our website: www.c2cdr.org. New fosters are brought into CCDR weekly – please complete an adoption application online and keep an eye on our website for your new family member!

In addition, CCDR is always looking for compassionate and responsible people across the United States to assist CCDR in educating the public about the increasing problem of dogs needing homes. In the New England area, we are especially in need of foster homes. If you think you’d like to volunteer and help, we would be happy to hear from you! Please stop by our table for more information or Email us at [email protected] • www.c2cdr.org

DOX ART was inspired by the rescue of seventy-one neglected and rescued dachshunds last winter in New England. While many of the healthier dogs were quickly adopted, Coast to Coast Dachshund Rescue stepped in to find forever homes for the ones in need of more special care. Bella was one of those dogs. She was little more than a puppy herself, expecting a litter of puppies, left in freezing cold temperatures in a filthy cage. When she was rescued she would not come near people or make eye contact. The MSPCA provided vetting and a safe temporary home for her and her pups, and Coast to Coast helped place Bella with her forever family. They provided vet care, and were an endless source of information for the behavioral and physical struggles she faced. Five months later on 4th of July, she happily made her way down Main Street of Barnstable Village, Cape Cod in support of Coast to Coast Dachshund Rescue. She is just one of many success stories thanks to the amazing work of animal rescue.

The twelve DOX ART pieces represent the unique and one-of-a-kind beauty of these rescued dachshunds. Artists from Cape Cod, Boston, and New York have donated their creative talents to support Coast to Coast Dachshund Rescue in this online fund-raising auction. DOX ART can be viewed at Cape Cod businesses, and will be a featured exhibit at Cape Cod Doxie Day on Saturday, October 10th at the Barnstable County Fairgrounds in Falmouth, MA from noon till 4pm. The online auction will continue through October 31st on the Bidding for Good website. 100% of the proceeds from your donation will go directly to Coast to Coast Dachshund Rescue, an all volunteer charity organization dedicated to rescuing dachshund and dachshund mixes from coast to coast. Please bid with your hearts! Not only will you be bidding on beautiful works of art from noted artists, but you will be helping to achieve our goal of finding loving and forever homes for these much deserving animals.

Help rescue dachshunds in need by bidding on one-of-a kind works of artArtwork will be featured at CAPE COD DOXIE DAY and businesses throughout Cape Cod - Check our website for locations
