Our spring membership meeting is in the books and it’s time to get ready for summer. Thanks for all those who came out to K-1 Speed. We had 55 members in attendance, which was a good turnout; however, is a very low percentage of our total membership. Our next meeting will be in November, so please try to attend. This is your club and we would like your representation and input. Eric Vandermay from SCCA - Sports Car Club of America was our guest speaker. He provided us a lot of information on many opportunities on getting involved with racing and autocrossing at a reasonable cost. No matter what level driver you are, there is a program for you and the training will make you a better driver on the street. Thanks to all that have shown an interest and I hope a few members take advantage of these events. Thanks to Rob for keeping us all informed of the upcoming events. We still have events in the works that are not finalized so check the events pages and the website as they will be posted as soon as we lock them in. The All Camaro Show still does not have a new home and we are running out of time. We are still working on a location but it is not easy to come up with one that works as well as Volo. Washrooms, food, insurance and parking are all components that need to come together to make this event possible. We will let everyone know as soon as we have something worked out but we are shooting for July 22nd, 2017 so save the date!!!

We unveiled the new clothing catalog at the meeting. This should be of great help for all those looking for new club apparel. We hope to have this up on the web site shortly for all to access and will be sending out a notice to all members with a digital catalog. All orders will be made directly with Artistic Embroidery Creations (815-385-8854). You can also contact our apparel director Fran Lasota if you have any questions but please order directly through the vender. We had a little fun closing the meeting with a raffle last month! I know Roy Thon does not want to take any credit for donating the lovely salt and pepper sets but thank you Roy. I hope all the winners enjoy these items. Being a car club I guess it was no surprise that the gas pumps were more popular than the jukeboxes. The February 26th Camaro Café was not well attended. Only seven members came out for brunch and four of them were new or renewing members. However, it was great to see 25 members come out to John & Tony’s for the March Camaro Café Brunch. It’s spring again!!! Plants are poking their heads out of the ground, trees are budding and soon we will be enjoying the greatest time of the year. While I know many members have had their cars out already due to the extraordinary warm winter weather, it will soon be the official time to pull the covers off, get out the polish and bring all our Camaros to life once again. Check out the event’s page for upcoming events and soon our cruise night page will also be updated for 2017. If you have a favorite car show you would like members to be aware of, let the Newsletter Editor and the Webmaster know so we can list them. Green Street is always well attended by club members and don’t forget we have our own area for parking together. Hope to see you there this summer, it’s always a great time hanging out with the ICC family. As previously mentioned the ICC All Camaro Show planning is behind schedule this year. Usually we have our flyer out and are taking pre-registration by now. As we look for a new venue, we also need a couple members to handle the raffle donations this year. If you are interested, please let one of the board members know or contact Brian Letarte for his insight as past coordinator. We hope to have a venue secured in the next couple weeks so keep July 22nd, 2017 saved for the show. We are still working on setting up additional events for the next few months. The last Camaro Café of the season will be on Sunday, April 23rd at Hank’s Farm in Ottawa, Illinois. This should be a fun event with a cruise atmosphere. We are hoping to set up some meet points along the way so be on the lookout for upcoming details. If the weather is nice bring the Camaros if you like, otherwise bring the daily drivers. Be sure to check out the Events Flyer on page 6 for all the details. Our first official cruise of the year will be to Quaker Steak & Lube on Sunday, May 7th. Check out the details and RSVP to Brian with your information. Then there is Uncle Harry’s Ice Cream Kick-off Cruise Night on Sunday, May 21st. Uncle Harry’s is one of your club sponsors so we would like to show our thanks by having a great turnout and remember the club picks up the basic ice cream treat. We are working on getting the web site updated with new information and links to the apparel site and other events of interest. One of our members, Mr. Kelly Gleason will be our new club Webmaster. Soon he will be up to speed after some training from the company that created our webpage pertaining to the twist and turns of “their” web design. Check for future updates and remember to create your own “garage” where you can display your car(s). If you have any suggestions for the site please let us know. Please remember we are still looking for a couple additional Event Directors in the western or northern suburbs. Also, we are in need of a Newsletter Editor. Don’t forget we will be looking for members interested in running for board positions for President and Treasurer. Join us for our last Camaro Café Brunch of the spring. We will be cruising to Hank’s Farm in Ottawa, IL for brunch. We will be announcing meet up locations about a week before the cruise for those who would like to cruise there together. This is rain or shine so if the weather is bad bring your daily driver.

Car has been covered and stored since new, all original except the battery. The car is 30 years new with red with gray cloth interior, T-tops, 305 TPI motor, automatic trans, power windows and locks. Purchased new in 1985 from Larry Rosch Chevrolet when they were located in Villa Park, IL and I also have the window sticker.
