Luke 24:1–3 (NLT)
But very early on Sunday morning the women went to the tomb, taking the spices they had prepared. 2 They found that the stone had
been rolled away from the entrance. 3 So they went in, but they didn’t find the body
of the Lord Jesus.
Luke 24:4–5
As they stood there puzzled, two men suddenly appeared to them, clothed in dazzling robes. 5 The women were terrified and
bowed with their faces to the ground. Then the men asked,
“Why are you looking among the dead for someone who is alive?
Luke 24:6–7 6 He isn’t here! He is risen from the dead! Remember what he told you back in Galilee, 7 that
the Son of Man must be betrayed into the hands of
sinful men and be crucified, and that he would rise again on
the third day.”
Luke 24:8–9 8 Then they remembered that he had said this. 9 So they rushed back from the
tomb to tell his eleven disciples—and everyone
else—what had happened.
Jesus death and resurrection were not something that just
“occurred” to Jesus in history. His death and resurrection was something a that Jesus knew was going to happen to him,
and so he told everyone (many times) it was going to happen to
him and it did happen to him.
Jesus came to die on the cross for
our sins, and rose from the dead to
defeat death for all who believe in
Him.
John 20:19
That Sunday evening the disciples were meeting behind
locked doors because they were afraid of the Jewish leaders.
Suddenly, Jesus was standing there among them! “Peace be
with you,” he said.
John 20:20
As he spoke, he showed them the wounds in his
hands and his side. They were filled with joy when
they saw the Lord!
John 20:22–23 22 Then he breathed on
them and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit. 23 If you
forgive anyone’s sins, they are forgiven. If you do not forgive them, they are not
forgiven.”
John 20:23 23 If you forgive anyone’s sins, they are forgiven. If you do not forgive them, they are not forgiven.”
The most important thing is for you to wipe that list of others sins against
you clean. You don’t need that baggage…
The most important thing is for you to wipe that list of others sins against
you clean. You don’t need that baggage…
..and they don’t need
that baggage.
The greatest gift of Easter is to
1. Accept by faith, your
own forgiveness in Christ.
2. Give by faith, your own forgiveness to those who have wronged you.
Jesus is telling them, keep the names of those who have
wronged you on an

John 20:24–25
One of the twelve disciples, Thomas (nicknamed the Twin), was not with the others when Jesus came. 25 They told him,
“We have seen the Lord!” But he replied, “I won’t believe it unless
I see the nail wounds in his hands, put my fingers into them,
and place my hand into the wound in his side.”
John 20:26 26 Eight days later the disciples were together again, and this time Thomas was with them. The doors were locked; but
suddenly, as before, Jesus was standing among them. “Peace
be with you,” he said.
John 20:2727 Then he said to Thomas,
“Put your finger here, and look at my hands. Put your hand into the wound in my side.
Don’t be faithless any longer. Believe!”
John 20:28–2928 “My Lord and my God!”
Thomas exclaimed. 29 Then Jesus told him, “You believe because you have seen me.
Blessed are those who believe without seeing me.”
The greatest blessing of this life is to join those Jesus speaks of in this verse: those who have not
seen, but believe in the resurrection of Christ
with eyes of faith.
Mark 9:22–24
The spirit often throws him into the fire or into water, trying to
kill him. Have mercy on us and help us, if you can.” 23 “What
do you mean, ‘If I can’?” Jesus asked. “Anything is possible if
a person believes.” 24 The father instantly cried out, “I do believe, but help me overcome
my unbelief!”
“Lord, I am weary of the struggle of making like work on my own alone. Today, I believe in your Son Jesus
Christ and his promises.
Help my unbelief.
Amen”
So we learning a lot from what Jesus said and did right
after his resurrection.
1. Erase your forgiveness board
2. Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved.
3. Follow Jesus.
Mark 16:5–6(ESV) 5 And entering the tomb, they saw a young man sitting on the right side, dressed in a white robe, and they were alarmed. 6 And he said to
them, “Do not be alarmed. You seek Jesus of Nazareth, who
was crucified.
Mark 16:77 But go, tell his disciples and Peter that he is going before you to Galilee. There you will see him, just as he told you.”
John 21:17 (ESV)
He said to him the third time, “Simon, son of John, do you love me?” Peter was grieved because he said to him the
third time, “Do you love me?” and he said to him, “Lord, you
know everything; you know that I love you.” Jesus said to
him, “Feed my sheep.
John 21:18
Truly, truly, I say to you, when you were young, you used to
dress yourself and walk wherever you wanted, but when you are old, you will
stretch out your hands, and another will dress you and carry you where you do not
want to go.”
John 21:19
(This he said to show by what kind of death he was to glorify God.) And after saying this he
said to him, “Follow me.”
