    1.0 INTRODUCTION

    1.1. DOCUMENTATION SCOPE AND UPDATES

This Installation and Configuration Manual provides information on how to install the IEC 61850 Communication Kit hardware and how to configure the kit using the provided software (IEC61850Config.exe). It can be installed with any of the following Calisto models:

    Calisto (C76 & C76A)

    Calisto 2 (C85 & C85A)

    Calisto 5 (C500)

    Calisto 9 (C900 & C900S)

    NOTICE

The IEC 61850 Communication Kit is supported by the following versions of the Calisto Access and Calisto Manager software: Calisto Access: firmware version v2.63 and later Calisto Manager: version 0.0.7 and later

An electronic version of this document is available on the CD supplied with the IEC 61850 Communication Kit.

    1.2. OVERVIEW

The IEC 61850 Communication Kit allows the Calisto monitor to communicate through the IEC 61850 protocol. The kit includes the following items:

Item Description For stepBCAL-0222 IEC 61850 Communication PCB 2.0 Hardware Installation

CBL-00003 CAT 5e crossover patch cable 3 ft. 3.0 IP Configuration

ZNS-00108 IEC 61850 Configuration CD 3.0 IP Configuration

    ZNS-00107 IEC 61850 Installation & Configuration Manual

The configuration of the IEC 61850 Communication Kit requires the following param-eters: a suitable fixed IP address, a subnet mask and a default gateway. If necessary, refer to your network administrator to obtain these parameters.

Please consult the Device Profile document specific to your Calisto model to interpret the protocol mapping of the IEC 61850 Communication Kit. The Device Profile docu-ments are included on the CD supplied with the kit.

    2.0 HARDWARE INSTALLATION

    WARNING

The mains supply switch of the monitor or the dedicated circuit breaker must be shut off before proceeding with the installation of the IEC 61850 Communication Kit. Refer to the Installation & Operation Manual of your Calisto monitor to understand all associated hazards.

    CAUTION

It is recommended to safely disconnect any hazardous cir-cuits from the alarm relays of the Calisto monitor.

This present section, 2.0 Hardware Installation, should be skipped if the IEC 61850 Communication PCB is factory installed in the Calisto monitor. Go straight to Section 3.0 to configure the IEC 61850 Communication Kit.

To install the kit in a Calisto/Calisto 2 monitor, go to Section 2.1.

To install the kit in a Calisto 5/Calisto 9 monitor, go to Section 2.2.

    2.1. INSTALLATION IN A CALISTO/CALISTO 2

STEP 1: Before installing the kit, it is recommended to download the latest Calisto Access or Calisto Manager software from www.morganschaffer.com.

STEP 2: Turn OFF the Calisto/Calisto 2 monitor using the mains switch.

STEP 3: Open the door of the monitor.

STEP 4: Remove the IEC 61850 Communication PCB from the antistatic bag by hold-ing it by its edges.

STEP 5: If it has not already been done, install the nylon standoffs in the PCB by inserting the shorter ends of the standoffs into the two holes of the PCB (see Figure 1).

STEP 6: Locate the J9 connector and the two insertion holes on the Main I/O PCB (see Figure 2).

STEP 7: Gently insert the PCB into the J9 connector. The nylon standoffs should easily snap into the holes (see Figure 3).

STEP 8: To complete the installation, follow the instructions specific to the model of your Calisto:

    CALISTO (C76)/CALISTO 2 (C85) ONLY (WITH 1 ETHERNET CABLE)

Unplug the Ethernet patch cable from the CPU board (see Figure 4), and plug it into the IEC 61850 Communication PCB (see Figure 5).

    CALISTO (C76A)/CALISTO 2 (C85A) ONLY (WITH 2 ETHERNET CABLES)

Leave the blue Ethernet patch cable connected in its port on the CPU board, and plug the yellow Ethernet patch cable labelled IEC 61850 into the IEC 61850 Communication PCB (see Figure 6).

    2.2. INSTALLATION IN A CALISTO 5/CALISTO 9

STEP 1: Before installing the kit, it is recommended to download the latest Calisto Manager software from www.morganschaffer.com.

STEP 2: Turn OFF the Calisto 5/Calisto 9 monitor using the mains switch.

    3.0 IP CONFIGURATION

    NOTICE

For new monitors with a factory installed IEC 61850 Communication Kit, the monitor must be installed before configuring the kit.

Configure the IEC 61850 Communication Kit right after set-ting the transformer information in either Calisto Manager or Calisto Access.

The default IP address is 192.168.0.121 (or previously, 10.3.6.89), and the Subnet Mask is 255.255.0.0.

STEP 1: Switch ON the mains power of the Calisto monitor and wait approximately 3 minutes.

STEP 2: Connect the supplied crossover cable between a computer and the Ethernet port on the communication interface board. For models Calisto (C76A) and Calisto 2 (C85A), use the port identified as IEC 61850.

STEP 3: Insert the supplied CD into the computer and copy the IEC61850Config folder on your computer.

STEP 4: To make sure that the Calisto IEC 61850 Config (IECConfig.exe) is not blocked by the firewall on port 2500, follow these steps to allow it through the Windows 7 firewall.

    a. Click the Windows Start button, and then Control Panel.

    b. Make sure that View by: Category is selected, and then click on System and Security.
