In the large Hadron Collider, particles are sped up close to light speed and spun around until they collide – creating energy and unlocking some of the deepest secrets to the universe.

In Circa’s Collider, choreographer Elise May places a company of Circa’s acrobats within Torus – a large, sphere-shaped, clear plastic structure. As they gather pace, acrobatic encounters and near misses build in intensity- revealing moments of joy, intensity and powerful beauty.

Circa Contemporary Circus is one of the world’s leading performance companies. Since 2004, from its base in Brisbane, Australia, Circa has toured the world – performing in 40 countries to over a million

people. Circa’s works have been greeted with standing ovations, rave reviews and sold-out houses across six continents.

Circa is at the forefront of the new wave of contemporary Australian circus – pioneering how extreme physicality can create powerful and moving performances. It continues to push the boundaries of the art form, blurring the lines between movement, dance, theatre and circus. Fuelled by the question ‘what is possible in circus?’.

The Wired Moon and the Ice Cream Floor recreates everything anyone ever thought was possible.

When the balance of the world shifts and tilts and sways, the characters have only one choice – try to find a new way of being.

Perched on bicycles, with tightwires strung over water, while balancing on precarious objects, these playful characters bound about continuously charming audiences with acrobatic feats, mesmerising live music and perhaps (if you are lucky enough to catch it)… the return of the moon to its rightful place.

This gorgeous abstract circus adventure is to be enjoyed by all ages during all sessions at SCOOP!, and comes with smiling faces, and most definitely requires an ice cream in hand.

SPACE COWBOY & THE VOODOO REVUEWhen the sun sets at SCOOP! it’s time to roll up for the Voodoo Revue – an after dark Gawkagogo Sideshow. Join Australia’s 55 x Guinness World Record Holder, The Space Cowboy as he presents Zoe L’amore ‘The Pain Proof Pin Up’, Phoebe Blue ‘Sizzling Siren of Sideshow’, and Lolly Pop ‘The Acrobatic Archer’. Prepare to be thrilled, shocked and amazed by these dazzling daredevils as they perform dangerous acts of the unimaginable in this high-octane cabaret.

Warning: Sparks will fly and your heart may explode during this jaw-dropping performance.

Keep an eye out for The Space Cowboy earlier in the evening, entertaining audiences with his famous street theatre routines.

THE SECRET INGREDIENTHOOPLA CLIQUE

Time is tick, tick, ticking, as the restaurant opens soon. A perfectionist chef selects ingredients for a delectable sauce whilst the kitchenhand battles a clever little mouse as he struggles to keep the kitchen “squeaky” clean. Amidst the raucous panic and miscommunication, the problems get worse and the stakes get higher and higher on the world’s tallest (and most precarious!) pile of dishes that drastically demand to be done, done, done!. Constantly outsmarted by the meddling mouse, these awkwardly slapstick clowns are destined to wreak havoc as they invoke a soufflé of uproarious laughter.

With a giant Ferris Wheel and the Surfers Paradise Skyline acting as the biggest and best backdrop Club SCOOP! is serving up dangerous indulgence and a lot of fun for two nights only this summer.
