This Week—At. St. Bernard– metal recycling dumpster. Do your spring clean up of your garages and sheds. Bring your scrap metal, appliances etc. (anything with a cord), wire, scrap metal etc. TV’s and monitors can be recycled for a cost of $5.00 each. Sunday May 19th.-Mission Trip Bingo– At Ascension There will be a Bingo fund raiser to support the “Catholic Work Camp” mission trip this summer. We are proud to once again, have students and adult leaders from St. Bernard’s & Ascension participating in this great service event. Please come to support their efforts & have some playing Bingo. We will have some great prizes. Concessions will be available with food & some treats. Bingo will be held at the Ascension Social hall and will begin at 1:30. Hope to see you there!! May 19 at 1 pm. CHARISMATIC PENTECOST MASS -All-City Charismatic Pentecost Mass at Immaculate Conception Church in Columbia Heights. Everyone is invited! Memorial Day Mass Mass for Memorial Day will alternate on a yearly basis between Ascension and St. Bernard. This year Memorial Day Mass will be at Ascension at 8:45am with the American Legion Cemetery Ceremony immediately following at Ascension Cemetery. Alt-hough there will NOT BE A MEMORIAL DAY MASS AT ST. BERNARD THIS YEAR, the VFW Cemetery Ceremony will occur at 9:30am at St. Bernard Cemetery. God bless America!

Flynn Catechetical Insti-tute will begin another two-year course. The classes will be held at the Church of The Epiphany in Coon Rapids. Under the direction of Mr. Jeff Cavins and taught by some of the best instructors in the Twin Cities, the program follows the four pillars of the Catechism of the Catholic Church and will make sense of all things Catholic, deepen your faith, and lay out the roadmap to heaven. The classes are divided into four eleven-week modules and meet on Monday evenings, 7 to 9 pm, with two Saturday morning formative sessions per module. Father Gregory is asking for members to attend classes at the Archbishop Harry J. Flynn Catechetical Institute beginning this Fall. Father has seen a great revival in a parish that has mem-bers who attended the classes. The Institute has invigorated and renewed the parish. For further information call Fr. Gregory.

Ordination John Drees will be ordained to the priesthood on May 25, 2013

at 10:00 am at the St. Paul Cathedral. John is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Hillary Drees, Dorothy Braunwarth and the late Tom Braunwarth A free bus ride has been provided for our

two parishes to attend the ordination. A sign up sheet is in the back of church. It is a great opportunity for the family to take time to see the special graces that will be at the ceremony. We will leave Ascension Church sometime after 8:00am and St.

Ascension Cemetery Regulations Ascension Cemetery does not permit planting, artificial or pot-ted plants except Memorial Day Weekend. Decorations may not be placed before Thursday evening (5/23/13) and must be

removed before the next weekend after the holiday. Holes may not be dug.

Archbishop Nienstedt is contemplating a capital campaign to raise important funds for parishes, schools and other ministries

across the Archdiocese. Before he moves forward, he would like to hear your thoughts on the proposed campaign goals and structure. Parishioners who are interested in participating in the
