1 Arm yourself with the rate you took down earlier and GIVE THE ACCOMMODATION A CALL!
2BE CLEAR FROM THE OFF. Explain that you would like to stay at their property, you discovered them on website, (Insert OTA Here).
3 Tell them the dates you want to stay and ASK THEM FOR THEIR BEST ‘OFFLINE PRICE’!
“I WANTED TO BOOK WITH YOUR PLACE BECAUSE IT LOOKS EXCELLENT. I WAS GOING TO GO
THROUGH AN ONLINE WEBSITE, BUT I WANTED TO COME TO YOU DIRECTLY.”
6 THIS IS WHYTHEY WOULD DO THAT
WHY WOULD THEY DO THAT?
?The booking site makes their money by charging the accommodation owner 10-20% COMMISSION ON EVERY BOOKING.
The MAJORITY tend to USE THE LATTER, therefore if you call them directly for an off-line rate, THE SAVING IS ALL YOURS!
The accommodation owner has TWO CHOICES: 1. REDUCE THEIR PRICES in order to
accommodate the commission, or,2. put the commission ON TOP of their usual on-line
rates.
THERE’S NO HARM IN TRYING!
