How to Comment on a Bill from Home
Built by Tory Anderson –[email protected]
Step #1: Open your internet browser
and type in www.azleg.gov
in the address line.This brings you to the homepage for
the Arizona Legislature. Here
you can access information about bills, including full text, summaries,
and if/when the bill will be heard in
committee.
Step #2: Scroll down to the tabbed menu, and click on
the “Request to Speak” tab. Then,
you can click on “Make a request to
speak”.
Step #3: Input your Username and
Password into the appropriate boxes. Click on House of
Representatives or Senate, depending on which bill you
are commenting on. If you click the
wrong one, don’t worry, you can
switch back and forth once you’re in
the system.

Step #4: Enter the bill number you
wish to comment on. Hint: You can only comment on
bills which are scheduled to be
heard on an agenda. If the bill is not on an agenda, it
will not show on this list.
Step #4: Once you enter the bill number, click
“Begin Search”
Step #5: If you entered a bill
number, you should see it here as long
as it is on a scheduled agenda. Click “Choose Bill”
to continue.
Step #6: Choose “Self” under “What
organization are you representing?”
unless you are a registered lobbyist with the Arizona
Secretary of State.
Step #6: Choose your stance on the
bill. Adding a comment on the bill
is optional.
Step #6: Do you wish to be heard?• Click “YES” if you
plan to be at the hearing and want to make a public comment.
• Click “NO” if you do not wish to speak at the hearing.
• Click “IF NECESSARY” if you plan to be at the hearing and will speak if a member has a question for you.
Step #6: Now you can submit your
comment!
