The Horizon Group began operations in 1990 and rapidly developed a successful reputation in fulfilling our clients’ mission critical human capital searches. Our clients have come to rely on us to fill positions that are vital to their ongoing business operations in capital markets, investment banking, and information technology. Over the past eighteen years The Horizon Group has expanded into other industries, but our commitment to aligning with our customers business goals remains constant.

As an example, when a large European bank sought entry into U.S. capital markets, it chose The Horizon Group to conduct a complete analysis of the marketplace and a subsequent strategic deployment of our recruitment resources. Today, that European bank’s U.S. securities franchise is amongst the leaders. When one of the world’s largest insurance companies undertook a complete restructuring of its derivatives franchise, Horizon was able to fill strategic roles in various locations around the globe in a time critical manner, allowing the client’s operations to satisfy the continual demand of real time execution and counterparty expertise necessary for success.

Our industry experienced recruiting staff at The Horizon Group are fluent in the unique “language” of the candidate and client market they service . Clients like a large commercial bank, a hedge fund, or a candidate that is a global head of options trading, or a fixed income salesperson, each have requirements that are characteristically unique. Incorporated in 1990 and based in New York, The Horizon Group began operations as an executive search firm and human resources management consulting company focused on U.S. domestic contingency and retained search. The core business units at that time were Capital Markets and Information Technology. Over the past nineteen years The Horizon Group has diversified and grown their executive search and resource staffing practices in the following areas:

The managing partners of The Horizon Group concurrently operate four staffing company assets in their portfolio which include Horizon Staffing Solutions, Horizon Healthcare Staffing Corp., Horizon Staffing Resources, and Horizon Home Care Therapies LLC. David Grossman, PresidentDavid is a co-founder of The Horizon Group. Prior to founding Horizon in 1990, David was instrumental in building several Wall Street search practices, including Alyson Taylor International and Options, Inc. In addition to his duties as Company Chief Executive, David continues to be involved in the Horizon’s global taxable fixed income business, with a major emphasis on the MBS and ABS markets. He is a graduate of Syracuse University, with a B.S. in Business and Personnel Labor Relations.

Arthur Banks, Managing PartnerArthur is a co-founder of The Horizon Group and general manager of Horizon’s technology consulting practice. Prior to forming Horizon Group, Arthur spent ten years as a director of marketing for ADP and Digital Equipment Corporation. His assignments included corporate branding and the establishment of new business in Fortune 500 Companies, as well as growing market share in existing major accounts. Arthur is a graduate of Albany State University and holds a B.S. in Business Management.

Tom Angello, CPC, Senior PartnerTom is a founding member of The Horizon Group and has over twenty years invested in executive search, with the last fifteen years spent developing Horizon’s Global Taxable Fixed Income practice. A partner at Horizon since 1993, Tom discovered early in his search career that by emulating the investment banking community’s approach to developing relationships, he was able to make a tremendous impact helping client companies achieve their goals in hiring and retaining top talent within taxable fixed Income. He also manages Horizon’s research and data management effort. Tom received a B.S. in Psychology from Brooklyn College.

Salvatore Petrara, CPC, Senior PartnerSalvatore Petrara joined The Horizon Group in Spring of 1995, joining Horizon’s Information Technology practice. He has been a partner since 1998. Focusing on several IT disciplines. The IT group at Horizon concentrates on n-tier client/server architecture, IT data security, and full project life-cycle trading systems development. Salvatore has a total of fifteen years of strategic IT recruiting expertise, and is a member of several IT and Talent Acquisition SIGs. He holds a B.S. degree is Accounting & Finance from Bentley College
