“Live simply, so others may simply live.” Mother Theresa of Calcutta

Winter can have some of the least busy months of the year. Take the time to go through your

things. Give unused household items and clothing to charity so that someone else can use

them. Consider whether you truly need something or want something before purchasing. Do

you already have something that will work? You can use yogurt, cottage cheese and other

plastic containers to store or freeze food. Likewise, if you need something, consider

borrowing something you will rarely use. Create a lending “library” in your family or

neighborhood. Not everyone has to have a every tool or items necessary for large gatherings.

This saves both storage space and money while cutting down on waste. No need to use

single use dishes and utensils when they are available through sharing.

Living simply gives us peace and others sustenance.

Please Welcome the Following New Families:

James and Nina Ashbacher

Nick and Monica Corradi

Michael and Klaudia Gardner

Dennis and Bernadette Meyer

Chad and Christine Tylicki

Your generous support will transform the lives of others, to

offer dignity, possibilities and companionship to those who

are most vulnerable.

As in the past, an in-pew commitment process will take

place next weekend, February 8-9. All who have not

received the mailing from Bishop Perez, or have not had a

chance to respond to it, will be asked to consider making a

generous pledge to support the ministries and services

provided by Catholic Charities. If you have received the

Please Bring in Last Year's Palms

Please bring in your palms from last year's Palm

Sunday during the month of February. We will be

teaching HMKids students how we burn last year's

palms for ashes to use on Ash Wednesday. There

will be receptacles at all the doors of the church for

you to place the palms in upon arrival. Palms are

needed by Feb. 23.

Serve With A Heart Like Jesus

Opportunities to serve will continue throughout

2020. Please consider how you can contribute. Many

hands make light work.

Here are some examples of ways students can serve:

Serving on Donut Sundays

Babysitting on Tuesdays during Following Christ

Baking items for the April Bake Sale

A Note to Parents

If your child needs to leave the worship area during Mass, please escort him or her. We want your children

to be safe. On weekends, think of your church as you would any public place where you would keep track

of where your child is and who he or she is around.

A Reminder to Our Prayer Partners

We want to thank our parishioners who are Prayer Partners for praying for our young people. Please remember

to keep praying for our second and eighth graders as they prepare to receive the sacraments of First Eucharist

and Confirmation this year.
