Prayer for our new Catholics

God of mercy,

you wash away our sins in water,

you give us new birth in the Spirit

and redeem us in the blood of

Christ your Son.

As we celebrate his resurrection,

increase our awareness of these

blessings

and renew your gift of life within us.

May the Easter sacraments we have

received

live forever in our minds and hearts.

We ask this in the name of Jesus the

Lord. Amen. Alleluia!

From our Pastor

Christ is risen!

He knocks at the doors of our

hearts daily. He seeks to enter in

and dwell with us.

And he sends us out from our or-

dinary, daily lives to announce to

those around us that he lives, that

he longs to transform our lives

and, through us, our world.

Jesus lives and is with us!

Rejoice!

Fr. Peter, OSB

Rice Bowl returns

The preferred way to return your

Rice Bowl is to bring it to the parish

office anytime after Easter Sunday.

We especially ask:

Please do not return your Rice Bowl

to church at the Easter Vigil or on

Easter Sunday.

We simply cannot accommodate

them with the larger than normal

attendance on those occasions.

Thanks for helping us out.

In the Apostle’s Creed, what do we

mean, Jesus “descended into hell”?

What happened between his death

and his resurrection?

God has fallen asleep in the flesh and he has raised up all who have slept ever since the world began. God has died in the flesh and hell trembles with fear. He has gone to search for our first parent, as for a lost sheep. Greatly desiring to visit those who live in darkness and in the shadow of death, he has gone to free from sorrow the captives Adam and Eve, he who is both God and the son of Eve. [He] approached them bearing the cross, the weapon that had won him the vic-tory. At the sight of him Adam, the first man he had created, struck his breast in terror... Christ took him by the hand and raised him up, saying: “‘Awake, O sleep-er, and rise from the dead, and Christ will give you light.’ I am your God, who for your sake have become your son. Out of love... I now command all who are held

in bondage to come forth, all who are in darkness to be enlightened, all who are sleeping to arise... I did not create you to be held a prisoner in hell. Rise from the dead, for I am the life of the dead. Rise up, work of my hands, you who were cre-ated in my image. Rise, let us leave this place, [for] I who am life itself am now one with you... The bridal chamber is adorned, the banquet is ready, the eternal dwelling places are prepared, the treasure houses of all good things lie open. The kingdom of heaven has been prepared for you from all eternity.”

From a second century homily, author unknown:

No choir rehearsal this week :)

Due to the extra

hours we‘ve clocked

in the past several weeks, the

choir is off on March 30. Weekly

rehearsals resume next Wed 4/6.

Christ is risen! He is risen indeed! Alleluia! Happy Easter!
