Hospital Overview

Hiranandani Hospital – A Fortis Network Hospital, Vashi, is a PPP (Public Private Partnership) model with Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation. Like every other Fortis hospitals, Hiranandani Hospital is a manifestation of the founder's vision of "creating a world-class integrated healthcare delivery system in India, entailing the finest medical skills combined with compassionate patient care". Established in 2007 Hiranandani Hospital is a 150 bedded hospital spread over an area of 1,47,973 sq. ft. The hospital building is shared between Hiranandani Hospital & NMMC General Hospital. Part of ground, first, second, third floor and entire fourth, fifth floor is under Hiranandani hospital’s possession.

Hospital Overview

It is an Advanced Tertiary Care, Multispecialty Hospital, in terms of Affordability, Accessibility & Availability of services. The Hospital is planned with international quality specifications and equipped with state-of-the-art equipment for all specialties. The hospital has 5 state of the art Operation Theatres, Neonatal, Paediatrics / Medical & Cardiac Intensive Care Units. Hospital has a highly experienced & talented team of senior consultants & doctors and a full team of paramedical staff with cutting-edge technology and excellent working environment that ensures the availability and access to the best medical talent round-the-clock. The hospital provides free of cost treatment to 800 poor patients per year who are referred by NMMC (Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation) wef 23rd March 2015. So far 1014 patients have been treated under the scheme, costing Rs. 31.48 cr.

• Hiranandani Hospital, Vashi was Awarded as “Excellent Energy Efficient Unit” at the 16th National Award for Excellence in Energy Management organized by Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) , held on 3rd Sept 2015.


• Hiranandani Hospital, Vashi has won “Best Green Project in HealthCare” in the Healthcare Leadership award presented by ABP news associated with CMO Asia on 26th Nov 2015.

Walkthrough Energy Audit

• A Walk through Energy Audit of the Hospital was carried out by

Third Party Honeywell Automation India Limited.

• It was revealed that the existing 200 TR X 02 Nos. chiller with

refrigerant Freon 22 was drawing high current & thereby

consuming very high energy.

• Also the Chiller used R-22 Refrigerant which is considered to be

potentially harmful to the environment.

• It was observed that the existing condenser pumps were

consuming high energy.

• It was revealed that the existing cooling tower performance was

very poor. The energy consumption was very high as the

Cooling Tower Fan was without VFD.

Energy Conservation Projects Implemented

• Basis the audit findings, the unit replaced the high energy consuming Chiller with Single Compressor ECBC Series Eco Friendly 200 TR X 01 Nos. Screw Chiller in June 2013.

Todays Need of Energy Conservation to Save the Environment

“Temperatures are rising by 0.0177°C per year globally, current carbon emissions are 29 billion tons per annum, CO2 contributes 72% of anthropogenic warming. Burning one liter of fuel (average 2.3kg emissions) causes a 0.000000000001°C

global temperature rise and saving of 1 kWh of electrical energy (fossil fuel) saves around 0.846 Kgs of carbon emission.”

(in the fy 2015-16, we at Fortis have reduced the Thermal energy to the tune of over 9250 million kilo calories and have achieved a carbon footprints reduction of

over 11250 metric tonnes).

In fortis vashi, from year 12-13 till 14-15 after implementation of various Encon projects we could saved 7,57,683 Kwh. Which in turn saves around 641 tonnes of

carbon emission.
