Message from David
Hi everyone, I had been hoping to start back at work in this last week. My recovery from my shoulder operation began very well, but there are some problems with the positioning of my shoulder-blade which require further intensive physio work. I’m disappointed that I’m still not back with you yet, and also that I may have to miss the Assembly meeting in the coming week. Please continue in prayer for Assembly and for Somers, and pray with thanks for God’s grace surrounding us all. At this stage I expect to be back on Tuesday 17 July. God's peace, David.

Psalm 47
God’s Rule over the Nations
To the leader. Of the Korahites. A Psalm. 1 Clap your hands, all you peoples;
shout to God with loud songs of joy. 2 For the Lord, the Most High, is awesome,
a great king over all the earth. 3 He subdued peoples under us,
and nations under our feet. 4 He chose our heritage for us,
the pride of Jacob whom he loves.Selah 5 God has gone up with a shout,
the Lord with the sound of a trumpet. 6 Sing praises to God, sing praises;
sing praises to our King, sing praises. 7 For God is the king of all the earth;
sing praises with a psalm.[a] 8 God is king over the nations; God sits on his holy throne.
9 The princes of the peoples gather as the people of the God of Abraham.
For the shields of the earth belong to God; he is highly exalted.
The Uniting Church affirms that she belongs to the peo-ple of God on the way to the promised end. She prays that, through the gift of the Spirit, God will constantly correct that which is erro-neous in her life, will bring her into deeper unity with other churches, and will
