The Property52 Princes Gate was built in c.1873, by the builder and developer C.F Freake, and forms part of an historic terrace. Internal works were designed by the architect George Aitchinson, whose brief was to decorate it in a manner commensurate with the new occupant, Eustance Smith and his wife’s social and artistic aspirations. At the time of their occupation the rooms of the house were amongst the most celebrated interiors in London.

The Property underwent a comprehensive refurbishment program in 2010, with design by Tilney Shane Architects providing high quality finishes, including air conditioning and feature lighting. The lower floors benefit from floor to ceiling heights of up to 4.5 metres and retain many classic period features including a detailed wooden dado with a floral pattern in ivory & mother-of-pearl, decorative plaster ceilings with sunflowers in the border panels, and a finely detailed Renaissance-style chimney piece carved in black marble. The second and third floors are now interlinked by way of an impressive atrium with feature lighting.

The Property enjoys direct access to Prince’s Gardens from the ground floor terrace to the rear. A passenger lift for up to 6 people provides access to all floors. Bathrooms are located on every floor of the Property, with changing facilities at lower ground.

The fourth floor comprises a modern 2-bedroom residential apartment which benefits from a private internal terrace.
