Weather vaning:
• Driven by thrust force
• Yaws about the turret
Will turbine wake interaction cause loss of total power?
• Peer-reviewed research results indicate some increase in power compared to two isolated turbines (simulation models and wind tunnel tests, e.g. [1,2])
• No need to curtail or shut down any of the turbines due to misalignment.

THE DOUNREAY TRÌ PROJECT
• The Dounreay Trì Project comprises the development, construction and operation of the Hexicon floatingmulti turbine platform.
• The floating platform will be deployed in Scottish Territorial Waters in Summer 2018
• The Project consists of:
o A two turbine floating platform with an installed wind power capacity of 10 MW,off Dounreay, Caithness, Scotland
o A single export cable to shore
o The associated onshore electrical infrastructure.

FABRICATION PROGRAMME
The fabrication programme at ship yard:
• Final assembly in dry dock (at NEP, NIGG Energy Park)
• Towers erected and WTGs installed in the dry dock
• The complete platform is towed from dry dock to site
• Export cable, anchors and mooring system will be installed at the offshore site before arrival of the platform
• The overall fabrication programme will take approx. 12 months. Fabrication of the platform and installation of the cable, anchors and moorings will be done in parallel.
