A pacemaker is an electronic device used to treat patients who have symptoms caused by abnormally slow heartbeats. A pacemaker is capable of keeping track of the patient's heartbeats.

If the patient's heart is beating too slowly, the pacemaker will generate electrical signals similar to the heart's natural signals, causing the heart to beat faster.

The purpose of the pacemaker is to maintain heartbeats so that adequate oxygen and nutrients are delivered through the blood to the organs of the body

ABOUT THE PROJECT

In the Wireless Heart Beat Rate Monitoring System we are using Wireless Heart Beat Sensor. The sensor used for this detection can be simply housed on the patient’s finger, a record of beat-to-beat Heart Rate is monitored and transferred to the another end continuously to watch the Heart Performance, and if anything is abnormal, the last record value or the continuous values will be sent to the doctor(s) or Hospital Mobile / Patient(s) Relatives or Friends Mobile

It will given an alarm to the patient to remain about the medicine that patient has to take immediately. It will also switch on the pace maker for the immediate rescue.

HOW IT WORKS

The sensor detects pumping of the heart and produces a voltage output. This is then transferred to the computer via a PIC Microcontroller unit.

The transfer rate of this Microcontroller is 9600 Baud Rate. This enables us to view and track the online changes encountered.

In the computer the output is plotted with respect to the real time to the heart beat rate. The Heartbeat Rate per minute is also given on the computer.

These information can be stored on the computer and can be used to analyze a status of the patient.

It also has an output to switch on the pace Maker on abnormal Beat rates. The complete information can be sent to a mobile Phone.
