Cutting Instructions: Charcoal fabric (background(: Cut 2 squares 8-7/8” X 8-7/8” A then cut in half diagonally Cut 1 square 8-3/8” X 8-3/8” B then cut in half diagonally Cut 2 rectangles 2-3/8” X 6-1/8” C Cut 1 square 4-5/8” X 4-5/8”, then cut in half diagonally D Cut 1 strip 2-3/8” X 9-7/8” E Cut 1 strip 2-3/8” X 11-7/8” F Dark orange print (basket): Cut 3 squares 3-7/8” X 3-7/8” G, then cut in half diagonally twice Light orange print (basket): Cut 2 squares 3-7/8” X 3-7/8” H, then cut in half diagonally twice Brown print (borders): Cut 4 strips 3-1/2” X 48-1/2” across length of fabric Cut 4 strips 3-1/2” X 18-1/2” across length of fabric Orange print (borders): Cut 8 squares 3-1/2” X 3-1/2” for border cornerstones K Cut 2 strips 1-1/2” X 16-1/2” for side inside borders Cut 2 strips 1-1/2” X 18-1/2” for top and bottom inside borders Dark brown print (binding): Cut 6 strips 2-1/4” X WOF for a double fold binding Wool: Follow instructions on templates for cutting wool.

Sewing instructions: Read all instructions before beginning this project.. Use 1/4” seam allowance unless otherwise instructed. Join pieces right sides together unless otherwise instructed. Sew a G triangle to an H triangle as shown. Make 6 units. Sew the units together with the remaining G triangles as shown below. Sew the rows together to make a large triangle block. Sew an H triangle to a C rectangle. Make 2 units as shown: Sew these units to the sides of the triangle block. Attach the B and D triangles as shown below.

Attach the E and F rectangles to the basket block. Sew an A triangle to each side to complete the block.

Pin or fuse wool to basket block and stitch in place with matching #12 pearl cotton using a blanket stitch. Berry stems are embroidered with tan #12 pearl cotton using a stem stitch. Leaf stems are embroidered with matching #12 pearl cotton using a stem stitch. Sew on the orange borders; sides first, then top and bottom. Sew a brown 18-1/2” strip to the sides of the block. Sew an orange K square to each end of 2 of the 18-1/2” brown strips. Sew these strips to the top and bottom of the block.

Trim the designer blocks to 12-1/2” square, except for Lisa Bongean’s block—it should be trimmed to 12-1/2” X 24-1/2”. Sew Lisa’s block to the bottom of the basket unit. Sew 2 of the designer blocks together on one side. Sew these blocks to the top of the basket unit. Sew 4 designer blocks together top to bottom. Sew these blocks to the left side of the basket unit. Repeat with the remaining 4 designer blocks and sew them to the right side of the basket block. Sew a brown 48-1/2” strip to the sides of the unit. Sew an orange K square to each end of 2 of the 48-1/2” brown strips. Sew these strips to the top and bottom of the unit.

Quilt as desired. Attach a brown double fold binding. Enjoy!
