Happy New Year, Neighbors!
Mother Nature was kind enough to give us
a white Christmas and with it came cold
temperatures and snowy sidewalks. We
appreciate you keeping your sidewalks clear and safe
for pedestrians as well as observing the city’s
overnight parking ban so our streets can be properly
plowed.
If you are like many, the New Year began with
some New Year’s resolutions. Whether you opted to
do more of something or less of something, don’t
worry if you have already fallen off track! You have
more than 300 days to try again.
Looking ahead, mark your calendars for River Run
Club’s annual meeting for equity members which will
be held on January 16 at 7 pm at the River Run Club.
All equity members in good standing should have
received an official proxy/ballot with candidate bio
sheets. If you cannot attend the meeting, please
complete the official proxy/ballot found on page 19 in
this newsletter and return it to the club by January
15, 2018. This is your neighborhood – and your River
Run Club board – so please exercise your right to vote.
We wish you a happy, healthy and prosperous
2018.

tomorrow.” ~ Albert Einstein

Pet TalesBy the Naperville Area Humane Society
Eric | 2 years | MaleHey ya'll, Eric here. Just flew in on the high winds of Hurricane Harvey. I hear that Chicago is the windy city, but you can't fool me. I know what windy is and Chicago has nothing on that hurricane. I was in a shelterdown south and am looking forward to all the new adventures that the north has to offer. Though I'm not sosure about this thing ya'll call 'winter' but who knows, maybe I'll love snow. I do enjoy the company of otherdogs and maybe a cat as well. I'm hoping my luck will change now that I'm here and I'll be able to find ahome to call my own.
Sim Sim | 1 year | MaleDo you ever dream of a day when you have a wonderful cat‐panion to call your own? Look no further, yourboy is right here! If there would be one word frequently used to describe me it would be — animated! Ilove to sit and talk to the birds outside the window and I can be quite chatty with them. I hope to find apurrfect match so I can enjoy my own tree with my forever family. If you like lasagna then we also havesomething in common because that seems to be a favorite of mine! Now that you know a little about me,stop in and get to know me even better! I will be in the lobby waiting to greet you!

River Run Club... “A private, social, recreational and fitness club.”
IIwould like to open my article by wishing everyonein the River Run community a healthy, prosperousand Happy New Year 2018!
I hope that everyone had agreat holiday season as we werevery busy at the Clubhouseduring December. We startedthe season by having a “treelighting” ceremony in the RiverRoom as we were entertainedby members of the NeuquaValley High School choir.
Santa’s Brunch was very wellattended by our members andtheir families as we had wellover 150 guests on December17. I would also like to thank allof Santa’s Elves (my staff) asthey were “absolutely the very
best” in attending to all of theguests. Not only did we haveSanta visit our Clubhouse andtake pictures during the brunch, but we had many crafts andcookie decorating as well.
Many of our members tookadvantage of the holiday décorand had holiday parties during themonth for their business or familymembers. As always, many thanksgoes out to my staff, as they arethe “elves” that get theClubhouse decorated and cleanedfor every event.
On December 22, River Runhosted the Annual Holiday Party in the River Room. AllRiver Run residents, members and non‐members alike, were invited to have some eggnog, beverages and lite
hords AND most important, to share a little holidayfriendship with one another. Attendance was well over 100people as we also had a few new members join our event.
Moving forward, we need to get down to somebusiness. Please be sure to mark your calendar for Tuesday,January 16, 2018 at 7 pm for the River Run Club AnnualEquity Members meeting. The meeting will take place inthe River Room and will begin promptly at 7 pm.
According to the By‐Laws, all River Run EquityMembers in good standing, will receive a letter in the mailby January 1, 2018 along with an official proxy voting ballotand a short bio on each of the candidates.
