Well here we are once again at the closing of another year. It is hard to be-
lieve another year has come and gone and the Holiday Season is upon us.
VIH Aerospace has seen a reasonably busy year with several maintenance,
manufacturing and overhaul projects. The year began with several Bell Medi-
um Projects; refurbishment and completion on Bell 412, a Bell 212 for VIH
Helicopters, and a Bell 205 paint and repair project for Hillsboro Aviation.
During 2019 VIHA took on a new Bell 407 customer for a sixty-month inspec-
tion and completed a 12 year major inspection on a customer’s EC130
(H130). VIHA also parted out a Bell 212. Currently we have an additional Bell
212 refurbishment already underway. In addition, several VIHA technicians
carried out field repairs in support of VIH Helicopters KA32 and S61 Helicop-
ters. Our Component Shop has been flooded with components and have on-
ly recently caught up as we head into the holiday season.
In our Engineering Department VIHA Engineered, Designed, and Certified a
Bubble Window, both L/H & R/H, for the AS332 (H215). Since our first sale,
we have seen a large demand for these windows. The STC is Transport Canada approved and we currently
await EASA and FAA approval any day.
Our Avionics Department completed a Night Vision cockpit conversion for a flight school in Penticton, the
RCMP, and several STARS Ambulance EC145s (H145). We also dispatched avionics technicians to Airbus’s
Fort Erie facility to perform completions on several new Airbus aircraft.
Our manufacturing department saw a large uptake in volume this year, keeping our 5-Axis CNC Milling Ma-
chine very busy producing parts and assemblies for aircraft manufacturers and other aviation companies. So
busy in fact that VIHA brought on an addition machinist and a BCIT Co-Op Student to meet our demands.
Next year looks to be equally active, with more machining and manufacturing capabilities coming online.
Also during 2019, VIH Aerospace became a GENESYS Aerosystems Authorized Dealer and BLR (FastFin) Dis-
tributor.
One of our biggest announcements for 2019 was obtaining our AS9100 Quality Certification in March. This
certification will open doors to future work, including new machining and manufacturing opportunities.
As we bring 2019 to a close, I’d like to take this opportunity to Thanks-You for your continued patronage,
