Well here we are already mid-point into Q2 and we’re finally completing our Q1 newsletter. This is a testament to how

busy it’s been around VIH Aerospace not only over the winter months but also into spring with all the activity as we

get ready for another busy summer flying season. Analysts are predicting a hot and dry summer, so being ready to

support the firefighting efforts is at the top of everyone’s mind as we get our aircrafts ready. As we said farewell to

2018, we ended the year with our annual employee Christmas Party for the entire VIH Aviation Group. In addition, we

turned our hanger into a dining room and enjoyed our first (and hopefully annual) VIH Aerospace Christmas Pot-Luck

lunch.

We entered 2019 where we left off in 2018 by completing several projects including two complete aircraft paint jobs,

with two more projected for completion this quarter. Our Manufacturing department has been extremely busy turning

our customized & ready to install projects from our 5-Axis CNC machine. This machine is a workhorse and never seems

to stop. Manufacturing has also been busy with bubble windows, sheet metal projects, and structural projects. Our

Component shop has been equally busy with several rotor heads, gearboxes, flight controls, and driveshaft overhauls.

In the Avionics department, it’s been busy as they support many of our in-house projects with upgrades, modifications,

and repairs along with Night Vision installations both internally and externally. Our Engineering department never

stops supporting all of our shops and many of our external customers.

On the trade show circuit, our team enjoyed another great show at Heli-Expo in Atlanta, GA. HAI always proves to be

a great show and seems to get bigger each year. We’ll also be attending CANSEC in Ottawa end-May, so contact us if

you’d like to meet-up with our representatives.

We’d also like to welcome two new industry partners. Although we have been in-

stalling Fast fins and Strakes for several years, VIHA is now a BLR Aerospace partner

and is ready to install their products. In addition, we would like to welcome

Genesys Aerosystems as an industry partner. Genesys is the developer of the HeliSAS

Autopilot System and VIHA is a proud Authorized Dealer for their products.

And the big story of 2019 so far is the achievement of our AS9100D Certification.

Our team worked extremely hard over the past two years to bring this initiative to

reality. I am especially proud of the professionalism of our team and excited about

the new opportunities being AS9100D certified will bring.

System enlarges the requirements of ISO 9001 to meet the rigorous demands of the

This year Heli-Expo was held in Atlanta GA 5-7 March. Our team

enjoyed meeting with familiar faces and also getting to know new

people. The expo was a success and we hope to see everyone

again soon!
