Art Competition
Treviglas College are hosting an art and photography competi-
tion with the Newquay Neighbourhood Plan focusing on children’s
thoughts about Newquay:
Newquay Town Council is running a competition, for all age groups
of young people so that you can show us, using photography or art, what represents
Newquay to you.
Using any form of art answer the following question: What do you think represents Newquay?
What do you really think of Newquay? Pretty Seaside Town or run down building site?
Whatever your opinion we want to know. You could take a photograph, put together a collage, draw a pic-
ture……the choice is yours!
Prizes!!! - First, Second and Third will receive £50, £30 and £20 respectively, or cash equivalent in the form of
vouchers or tickets to local attractions and events.
As well as this, your submission will form part of an exhibition at The Lighthouse Cinema at the end of November.
If you’re interesting in participating entries must be in by Friday 13th November. Please hand them in to your
class teacher making sure they are clearly named. Good luck!
Parent’s Evening
Letters and appointments for Parent’s Evening have gone home this week. Meetings are taking
place on: Tuesday 10th November and Thursday 12th November. If you haven’t made an appoint-
ment please pop into the office for a letter. Gardening club will be cancelled on this Thursday.
Operation Christmas Child - Shoebox Appeal
A huge thank you to those people who supported Operation Christmas Child by bringing in their shoe-
boxes. Bec Matthews was simply thrilled to be able to send off 85 shoeboxes to make sure that chil-
dren all over the world can have a wonderful Christmas. A special mention must go to Jessica B in Y6
who came along on the day to help and wrapped and packed boxes with real thought and care.
Thank you!
Also, don't forget, if you would like to take part in the adult Nativity play on 12th Dec catch Bec at cakes sale on
Friday or at pick up and drop off next week. It is a silly, fun, fund raiser for the pool project and a great chance to
show off and impress your children!
Sports News
This week Perranporth entered two different sporting competitions. On Wednesday the
basketball team went to Treviglas College to take part in an inter school basketball
qualifier. The team played fantastically and won every game in the heats. Their final
game was played against Goonhavern who managed to score one point more
before the final whistle was blown. This meant that Perranporth finished a very close
second.
On Thursday this week the swimming team went off to Newquay for a
swimming gala. Perranporth had some brilliant results in the different races with excellent
swimming being shown and some top three places achieved.
A huge well done to both teams for such a fantastic effort!
