Introduction

The Ontario Universities’ Guidance Dialogues are a series of perennial events dedicated to delivering admission updates between Ontario universities and high school guidance counsellors. University representatives and counsellors alike collaborate at Guidance Dialogues to share feedback, network and engage in topical issues in support of their shared goal to promote high school students’ access to Ontario universities.

The Guidance Dialogues 2020 Resource Guide is brought to you by the General Committee on Student Recruitment (GCSR) in partnership with the Ontario Universities’ Application Centre (OUAC). This Resource Guide was designed at the request of Ontario guidance counsellors and is written for them rather than students. Les Dialogues entre les conseillers et les universités de l’Ontario sont une série d’événements vivaces et consacrés à la mise à jour, par les universités de l’Ontario, des renseignements sur les admissions aux conseillers des écoles secondaires. Starting the second week of June, Ontario high school students can use the AIS to fi nd possible openings at Ontario universities.

To begin your search, visit www.ouac.on.ca/ouac-101 and click:

Once you fi nd an open program of interest, add it to your 101 application.

Requirements:• You will be completing or have completed the OSSD (or equivalent),

including six 4U/M courses, by early September 2020.

• You must have an average of at least 60%, although higher averages are usually required.

Advanced Placement (AP) and International Baccalaureate (IB)

• AP: Students who completed AP courses in appropriate subjects with a grade of 4 may receive transfer credits. Students must also meet the standard university requirement of six 4U/M courses.

• IB: Students who completed IB courses in a Canadian high school may receive transfer credit. To receive transfer credit for a specific course, a student must receive a score of 5 or higher in a Standard Level or Higher Level course.

Deferral• Students who are offered admission may defer their offer

for 1 year, as long as they do not attend any academic institutions (high school or postsecondary) during that year.

Repeated Courses • We will use the highest grade to calculate the average.

Special Consideration • The Assistant Registrar makes special consideration on an individual basis.

Summer/Night School, Virtual/e-Learning, Private School, and Correspondence Courses

• IB: We determine admission and scholarships using the conversions that the applicant’s high school submits to the OUAC. Deferral

• AP : En plus de répondre aux exigences d’admission à l’Université, les candidat(e)s qui ont suivi des cours donnant droit à des équivalences auxquels elles ou ils ont obtenu la note de 4 ou plus peuvent recevoir des crédits de transfert équivalent à un maximum de 2 cours complets (12 crédits).

• BI : Le BI est accepté pour l’admission à l’Université Laurentienne. Il faut avoir obtenu une note d’au moins 28 et satisfaire aux exigences du diplôme dans 6 matières : 3 au Niveau supérieur et 3 au Niveau auxiliaire. Il est possible que nous accordions des transferts de crédits pour les cours du plus haut niveau assortis de la note 5 ou plus. Modifications aux programmes• Les étudiant(e)s d’un baccalauréat spécialisé de Glendon peuvent choisir une mineure au School of the Arts,

Media, Performance, Media and Design, et à la faculté des études environnementales, sauf s’il y a une mineure semblable offerte à Glendon.

• Les candidat(e)s à Glendon fournissent une preuve de compétence linguistique en français ou en anglais lorsqu’ils complètent :• 4 années entières d’études secondaires complétées au Canada, en français ou en anglais; ou• 4 années entières d’études secondaires en français ou en anglais dans un pays où le français ou l’anglais est

• AP : Octroi de crédits aux candidat(e)s qui ont obtenu une note finale de 4 ou 5 à l’examen AP, selon le programme (maximum de 30 crédits ou 5 cours universitaires).

• BI : Octroi de crédits pour les matières à option forte réussies avec une note finale d’au moins 5 selon le programme (maximum de 30 crédits ou 5 cours universitaires).

Report de l’admission

• Un report d’admission et de bourse d’admission est possible pour une période maximale d’une année et nous l’accordons qu’une seule fois.

• Pour se faire, il faut accepter l’offre d’admission et remplir le formulaire en ligne : https://secure.students.yorku.ca/deferral-of-admission-for-undergraduate-students.

Reprise de cours • Nous utiliserons la note la plus élevée obtenue.

Considération spéciale• Admission modifiée offerte aux étudiant(e)s qui ont un
