    GRAND-AM

    FOREWORD

These are exciting times in sports car racing.

Back in September, the landmark merger of GRAND-AM RoadRacing and the American Le Mans Series was announced atDaytona International Speedway. Both series will combine theirbanners in 2014 when we operate as a unified series, a move thathas attracted the attention of the international motorsports commu-

    nity.

With the unification as a backdrop, we are embarking on anothercompetitive season. We look forward to competing at Circuit of The

Americas, Kansas Speedway and Road Atlanta for the first time inaddition to returning to many of Americas finest venues.

The GRAND-AM Rulebook contains the rules and proceduresgoverning GRAND-AMs Rolex Sports Car Series and ContinentalTire Sports Car Challenge. Revisions include the new Rolex SeriesGX class. We urge you to carefully study the new Rulebook, in orderto familiarize yourself with these revisions as well as the rules whichhave not changed.

GRAND-AM will continue to strive for a balanced playing field, witha full starting field of various car makes and models in each racethat are as equally matched as possible. To maintain properbalance, it may be necessary to make occasional rule changesand/or modifications to ensure the proper balance in the competi-tion arena.

We all at GRAND-AM wish all of you a successful and rewardingyear of racing.

GRAND-AM Road Racing continues to strive to make sports carroad racing highly competitive, affordable and entertaining forracing fans and competitors. One of the tools that we use for thispurpose is the GRAND-AM Rulebook, which contains the rules and

    procedures governing all GRAND-AM sanctioned on-track activi-ties.

In 2013, the GRAND-AM Rulebook has been revised in severalrespects. We urge you to carefully study the new Rulebook in orderto familiarize yourself with these revisions, as well as the rules thathave not changed. If you have any questions or need rules clarifica-tions, please contact a Senior GRAND-AM Official.

In keeping with GRAND-AMs commitment to maintain properbalance in the competition arena, it may be necessary for GRAND-

AM to make rule changes and/or rule modifications from

time-to-time. Such changes are designed to enhance close compe-tition. GRAND-AMs goal of a full starting field of various car makesand models in each race that are as equally matched as possible isin the overall best interest of the sport. That is what GRAND-AM hasstrived for in the past and will continue to strive for in the future.

We all at GRAND-AM wish all of you a successful and rewarding

    year of racing.
