We are looking for two graduate engineers with a BEng / MEng in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent) to join our dedicated team of scaffold design engineers. All team members follow our tailored and structured training and development program, with support provided to gain professional membership of ICE or IStructE. The ideal candidates will have some construction industry experience gained before, during or after their period of university study and be aware of the health and safety requirements of working in this industry. Computer literacy is essential: effective Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel, are expected. AutoCAD draughting skills would be desirable although not essential, as full training will be provided. Experience in Temporary works and scaffolding would provide an advantage to any applicant however we will provide full training in all practical and technical aspects of this role. Graduate Engineer Spec Main Duties Essentials Desirables The design of scaffolding and temporary works in accordance with British and European codes of practice and UK construction and health & safety legislation. Apply engineering knowledge to analyse the structural integrity of scaffolding and temporary works structures ranging from simple hand calculation to second order frame analysis.t Assess and design-out hazards were possible within the design process and propose effective control measures for the reduction and elimination of risk. Conduct site surveys, collect and assess site information, liaise with clients and fellow construction professionals and represent the company at design and site meetings. Understand the practicalities of the erection, use and dismantle of scaffolding, as well as its main functions in key industry sectors and apply this knowledge to improve our service provision, processes and standards.
