GRADE 10 FRENCH IMMERSION AT LOCKERBY COMPOSITE The grade ten French Immersion Careers class was asked to choose ten moments that shaped their lives, Les événements qui ont façonné ma vie. Our students were asked to be creative in the way they present the events to the class. This past week our students completed a visual representation of their timeline in the STEAM Room. Our students were able to connect the events of their lives, both good and bad, and to their strengths. Some innovative timelines were in the form of a children’s book, a seed blossoming into a flower, and works of art. Several students mentioned the significant impact of Lockerby Composite School on their lives! Way to go Vikings!

HEALTH AND WELLNESS FIELD TRIP Students in the Health and Wellness SHSM Program went on their year-end trip on Tuesday and Wednesday this past week. They began their day on Tuesday with a tour of the University of Toronto’s St. George campus. Later that day they went to a Blue Jays game and were their good luck charm as the Jays conquered the Red Sox winning by a score of 10-3. Afterward, they stayed overnight in the George Brown residence to experience what it would be like if they chose to do so for postsecondary school. The next morning they visited George Brown’s Health Sciences Centre on Toronto’s waterfront. The topped off their trip with a Communication certification at Treetop Trekking in Brampton and were also able to go on their high ropes courses. Ms. Hunda would like to thank all of the students for their exemplary participation in all activities!
