Globalizationisusuallyreferred to be driven by acombination ofeconomic,technological,socio-cultural,political and biologicalfactors. Globalization could also bereferred to the global spread of3 ideas and languages. 4. GLOBALIZATION4 5. 5 6. Yesterdays GlobalismIn yesterdays one-size-fits-all world, bigcompanies could often migratesomething that was a hit in the U.S. orEurope by tweaking the language andadvertising .Examples: Mercedes-Benz, traded on its reputation forbuilding highly engineered automobiles to driveinto foreign markets. Coca-Cola Co. and Marlboro cigarettes tradedon their American-ness to create largeoverseas followings. Sony Corp. found that compact, economical,6 and reliable electronics like the Walkman, strucka chord with people everywhere. 7. Todays GlobalismThings have changed. No company can safely assumethere will be viable foreign marketsfor an existing product. Any company seeking to expandglobally needs to ask if its offeringsare culturally andsociallyappropriate for its targeted market.7 8. Globalization is much likefireFIRE ITSELF IS NEITHER GOOD NOR BAD . Used properly--it can cook food, sterilize equipment, form iron, and heat our homes. Used carelessly-- fire can destroy lives, towns and8 forests in an instant. 9. Globalization good?????? Worldwide market. Transfer of capital, technology, management Development of trade. Increased employment Utilization of resources. Increase international relations.9 10. Globalization bad ??????? It is essential to the growth of the economy in todays decline but its negative effects need to be evaluated. As with most issues, the majority of people will be in the middle. They will see globalization not as something toworship or demonize. Instead, they willsee it as something to mold, shape and15manage for the betterment of everyone 16. So16Thank You!! 17.
