We provided 758 participant families with $76,085 in financial assistance to keep our program accessible to all girls, regardless of ability or family income.

in the first longitudinal study to assess the impact of Girls on the Run. Being chosen as one of only three councils in the nation is a testament to the strength and quality of our programs.

Girls on the Run is a physical activity-based positive

youth development program for 3rd through 8th grade girls. The 10-week, 20-lesson curriculum empowers girls to take charge of their lives and define the future on their terms. No limits. No constraints. Only opportunities to be remarkable.

Crossing the Finish Line is a defining moment when the girls realize that even the seemingly impossible IS possible.

Each 10-week session ends with a celebratory, non-

competitive GOTR 5k event. Completing the 5k gives girls a

framework for setting and achieving life goals as well as a

lasting sense of confidence through accomplishment.

Be the Change You Wish To See. Girls on Run would not exist without countless change agents who are

helping inspire the next generation of girls to make the world a better place.

308 Volunteers

gave their time and energy to help with events like the GOTR 5k, the 10,000 Girls Limitless Potential Breakfast and community partner events, as well as behind-the-scenes work like moving offices and preparing program materials. Every hour. Every task. Means everything to

the growth and success of our organization.

SoleMates are adult charity runners who train for an event of their choice and raise money for GOTR

program scholarships. This year’s group raised $7,540 to provide over 60 girls with full scholarships. Larissa Berberick, Angela Black, Mary-Ann Bolton, Anna Brunton, Kate Caton, Lisa Cook, Amy Hales,

Volunteer Coaches The Girls on the Run and Heart & Sole Programs can ONLY happen with the hands-on time and service of coaches who deliver our lessons and serve as role models, active listeners and motivators for participants.

Of the 346 coaches this year: • 236 were new coaches • 43 coached both fall and spring sessions • 135 attended the 4-hour Coach Training • 91 completed a virtual training • 100% were background checked • 40% were CPR/FA certified • 100% positively impacted the lives of 1,229 girls

facing the challenging physical, social and emotional transition into adolescence.

With two full-time and one part-time employee managing programming across fourteen WNC counties, it is clear how much we rely on our GOTR volunteer family to help transform the lives of girls and families,

schools and community centers, as well as the future of our communities and the world.

If you share our mission to inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident, please join us as a volunteer, donor, advocate and/or supporter. Together we are

creating a generation of girls who know and activate their limitless potential and are free to boldly pursue their dreams!
