Generate run charts, quickly and easily

1. Access datix in the usual way, via the link on the homepage of the intranet

3. Search for the incident data you’re interested in by choosing ‘new search’ from the

incident menu

Then, populate the fields of the search form (the same as a regular incident report

form) with the relevant parameters

You can populate as many or as few fields as you require. A good starting point will be to

choose:

a specific incident type, category or sub-category

your ward, service or department

a suitable date range – at least 6 months, but 12 – 24 is probably best

N.B. Enter a date range using this convention dd/mm/yyyy:dd/mm/yyyy

Finally, click on search at the foot of the form, or the search icon at the side.

4. Now you have your incidents, choose design a report from the menu at the top left

of the screen

5. There are whole range of reports you can create, click on the ‘SPC charts’ icon…

…and choose run chart

Then choose your fields to report on. This will always be the ‘incident date’ from the

incident form, and choose the month and year format. And give your chart a name.

6. You can then export your chart to excel in order to save it, share it, produce a

paper or poster etc. Just click on export and choose the excel option and follow the

instructions that come in pop ups (choose open and yes).
