GENERAL REQUIREMENTS 1. Electrical wiring for emergency systems should be in metal conduits or from cables that have fire-resistant mineral insulators 2. All structural elements must have fire resistance duration according to UBBL 1884 3. Ventilation system for emergency staircases, whether passively or mechanically 4. Usage of LPG must follow conditions stipulated in MS 830 and MS 930. Please attach complete plan to this Department. 5. For building over 30m, all staircases that are proposed for emergency exits must be extended to roof level to enable access to it 6. All emergency fire-safety signs must comply with MS 982:1985 7. Graphic design floor plan with white background that indicates location of emergency staircases, fire escape routes, emergency exits and locations of fire-safety equipment. Placement of fire safety equipment must be easily seen. 8. Attach herewith 3 sets of operation booklets according to conditions stipulated by the Fire and Safety Department of Malaysia ACTIVE REQUIREMENTS 1. Wet riser? GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

ACTIVE REQUIREMENTS

1. Wet riser? (sistem pancur basah) according to MS 1489 Parti 1999 and UBBL 19842. Dry riser? (sistem pancur kering) according to MS 1489 Parti 1999 and UBBL 19843. Sprinkler system (sistem pancur menurun) according to UBBL 19844. Unit saluran bantu mula according to MS 1489 Parti 1999 or any determinations allowed by the

Fire Department.5. Break glass unit according to conditions by British Conducts and Standards or any

determinations allowed by the Fire Department 6. Smoke detector according to conditions by British Conducts and Standards or any

determinations allowed by the Fire Department 7. Electrical isolation switch that does not affect emergency light when switched off8. Smoke spill air system according to Australian Standard 1668 Section 1: 1974 or any

determinations allowed by the Fire Department9. Smoke extractor system at the basement and lower ground floor according to Australian

Standards 1668 Section 1:1974 or any determinations allowed by the Fire Department10. Public address system and fixtures need to be compliant to requirements of Fire Department11. Fire control center on designated floor equipped with fire alarm box

PASSIVE REQUIREMENTS

1. Usage of ceiling must be compliant to UBBL 1984, Schedule 82. All fire escape staircases must be surrounded by a brick wall of thickness 155mm or open

staircase according to UBBL 19843. Fire retardant door of duration 1 hour. Fixtures must be enclosed tightly

4. Compartment wall of thickness 112mm/225mm brick built up to roof/floor level indicated on plan

5. Wall of store room that is characterized as dangerous should have thickness 100mm brick and a fire retardant door of 1 hour duration with door closer

6. Break point on wall outside building to ease procedures of firemen7. Roller shuttle (fire retardant of 2/4 hours) as indicated in plan8. Usage of glass on exterior façade must comply with of firemen9. Service shafts must be closed at all floors with fire retardant of 2 hour duration10. Rooms with fire department pumps and generators must be built from brick walls with fire

retardation of 2 hours. Its doors must have fire retardation of 1 hour11. Partition walls must be brick of thickness 200mm (load bearing). This wall must be built to roof

level or of a design approved by Fire Department12. All partition walls (internal) must be fire retardant of half an hour must be approved by the Fire

Department13. Partition walls between factories and offices must be of thickness 115mm/225mm and built up

to roof level as indicated in plan14. Fire resistance at roof region along the trusses at distance 7.5m or every 25msq15. Deflector wall as long as 450mm and 115mm thickness as indicated in plan

ETC.

BOMBA lift as indicated on plan according to British Standards 2655 Section 1 Subsection E

Fire extinguisher compliant to MS 1539 Part 1 2002 as indicated on plan

Direct alarm notification to closest Fire Department, its installation must be compliant to Fire Department

Pemasangan tetap gas according to stipulations of Fire Department

Automatic sprinkler system according to Malaysian Standards MS1919 . 2005 or any determinations by Fire Department

Lift lobby space must be built from fire retardant materials of 2 hours and must have smoke detectors according to UBBL 1984

Telefon BOMBA must be provided, three-way and located in emergency staircases or lobi menentang fire, motor lift room, BOMBA pump room and generator room

Emergency EXIT sign using AC current as indicated on plan. Lights must be approved by Fire Department

Air conditioning channels must be attached with fire dampers that can be moved by fusible links or motorized according to conditions of Fire Department

Stairs and lobbies that are fire resistant must have sitekan system according to Australian Standards1668 Section 1:2001 or any determinations of Fire Department

All kitchen hoods must be protected with pemasangan tetap gas that is installed according to conditions of Fire Department

Self-contained type smoke detector according to conditions of NFPA or any determinations of Fire Department

Foam system according to conditions of NFPA or any determinations of fire department

Smoke venting whether passive of mechanical according to determinations of Fire Department

SITE PLAN

Two-way fire hydrant which gives out 1135 liters of water a minute as indicated on plan

As above, with distance of 91.5m

Two-way fire hydrant that gives out 1362 liters of water a minute per hydrant and 2724/4086 liters of water when 2/3 hydrants are used at once (pressurized hydrants). Pipe used for hydrant system must be G.I. type class C or Steel Line Cement Pipe Fittings and must be made of Wrought Steel

2 hose reels measuring 64mm x 30mm and a nozzle of type Jet & Spray that is placed in the cabinet box near each fire hydrant

Fire hydrants must be In good condition

BOMBA access road with width of 6m that can support loads of 25tonnes as indicated in plan

Steepness of access road must be less than 1:12

Height of relief must be less than 5m

Distance between buildings must be compliant to Schedule 6 UBBL 1984
