MINIMASTER® PLUS IS REACHING THE HIGHEST LEVEL OF PRECISION AND PRODUCTIVITY.

THE SUCCESS CONTINUES

Seco continues the success of Minimaster by

launching the next generation. Once again

showing the future direction of end mills with

replaceable fluted inserts.

SPEED? SURE!

When a used Minimaster Plus insert is replaced

with a new one, the axial and radial position

remain the same for maximum precision. It

is also possible to replace the insert without

removing the shank from the holder or

machine and re-measuring the whole assembly,

speeding up the process considerably.

COST EFFECTIVENESS? YOU GOT IT.

You only pay for the replacement of the insert

once it is worn out, instead of the complete

tool (for example, HSS or solid end mill).

Exchangeable inserts for different shanks

allow for higher cutting data, thus avoiding

regrinding and ensuring a consistent tool life.

HIGH PERFORMANCE SQUARE SHOULDER MILLING CUTTERS

Turbo10 is a new high performance cutting tool for square shoulder

milling, with improved tool life and precision. This is achieved through

optimised cutting properties that reduce heat generation

and cutting forces, and a new insert geometry that mills corner angles to

90 degrees.

Turbo10 is very flexible and suitable for most milling operations,

including roughing, semi-finishing, finishing by slotting, contouring,

helical interpolation and ramping. Initially it will be available in

diameters from 16 to 100 mm with 0.4 and 0.8 mm insert radii, two

geometries and eight insert grades.

Turbo10 can be mounted with cylindrical shank, Weldon, arbor and

Combimaster.

SQUARE 6-04THE SQUARE 6 SUCCESS CONTINIUE WITH A LITTLE BROTHER.

THE SQUARE 6 SUCCESS CONTINUES WITH A LITTLE BROTHER.

Here is the smaller size of Square 6 for square shoulder

milling, Seco is adding Square 6-04 which is covering

the main machining depth of cut with maximum 4mm

capability.

Square6-04 is well suited for small and medium milling

machines. The inserts have six cutting edges and when

combined with the maximum number of inserts on each

cutter dimension it results in improved cost-efficiency and

increased productivity.

HIGH PERFORMANCE WITH SQUARE6-04

And with two different pitches - same diameter, different

number of teeth - Square 6 gives the same high performance

on a wide range of materials, operations and machining

conditions. The 90° setting angle ensures a true 90° square

in one operation, saving valuable production time.

EVEN FASTER WITH THIS NEW GENERATION

Highfeed2 is a new range of small diameter high feed tools, intended for

very high productivity in modern CNC machines.

Highfeed2 enables a combination of strength and number of teeth

versus diameter for maximum metal removal rate.

The close pitch allows very fast feed rates and stable cutting

performance even in very interrupted cuts.

The “well balanced design” of both body and inserts gives free chip

flow when copy milling in cavities, particularly when using tool holders

with long overhang.

Designed for very high feed rates with low depth of cut, Highfeed2

is available from diameter 16 to 35 mm and relevant imperial sizes with

comprehensive insert grades and geometries to cover a wide spectrum of

materials including superalloys.

A STRONG GEOMETRY FOR HIGH METAL REMOVAL

When productivity and strength is an issue then the rigid centre lock

geometry M5 is the proper choice. This robust insert with its highly

protected chip groove tackles the most demanding operations, heavy

interruptions and rough skin successfully. An open chip groove with well-

adapted cutting angles ensures high feed rates and large cuts for efficient

machining and best economy.

Ductile materials can easily be handled with full control by the fine-

tuned chip groove design. For obtaining optimal tool life in a variety of

materials the balanced rake face minimizes the heat transferred to the

insert.

M5 is the unsurpassable geometry for a great variety of workpiece

materials such as steel, stainless steel, cast iron and troublesome

superalloys.

Positive centre lock inserts are available in a wide range of

chipbreakers to cover most materials and applications, F1, MF2, F2

and M3 are the foundation. The new M5 will complement these as the

strongest geometry for the most testing environments and the heaviest

applications.

A CHIP FORMER FOR SUPERIOR PERFORMANCE IN DUCTILE MATERIALS

Chip control is highly important in modern production where less

manned supervision is present. Selecting the FF2 geometry in negative

insert style can prevent machining stops caused by unbroken chips which

are hard to evacuate from the machine.

An even more undesirable situation is when the uncontrolled swarf

sticks to the cutting tool or the component causing sudden

tool failures or poor part quality.

The very tight, narrow chip groove of FF2 curls the chips firmly against

the insert or component and compels them to break into easy-handled

size. Even if the mechanical maneuvering of the chips is intensive the

well-balanced design of the chip groove minimizes the cutting forces and

reduces the heat transferred to the insert.

When less heat is transferred tool life is improved. Low cutting forces

generated by the insert enable operations to be performed in unstable

set-ups and in thin-walled components.

FF2 is an excellent complement to the existing FF1 and MF2 offering

excellent opportunities in the finishing of ductile materials, steels and

stainless steels.

you save more than 50% machining time. Interested?

No limitations on tip size give you full use of the cutting edge length and

the possibility to use different machining strategies e.g. Plunge turning.

Meaning you can decrease your machining time by more than 50%

compared to conventional turning. Interested now?

SMALL ICNEW AND COST EFFECTIVE SOLUTIONS FOR SMALL INSERTS

A PERFECT BALANCE

Small ICs have unchamfered edges with optimized edge honing,

meaning a reduction in rejected components due to less risk of

vibrations. The radial and axial cutting forces are balanced so that even

complex parts with a weak set up can successfully be machined.

You can get holders and inserts from one supplier which makes ordering

easy and lowers the risk of mixing up inserts, toolholder pockets and

clamp screws, Simple.

PCD SOLUTIONS FOR COMPOSITE MACHININGPCD SOLUTIONS

SHARP CUTTING

The very sharp cutting edge compared to a CVD Dura coated tool allows

a PCD tool to perform consistently and securely. This means that the

workpiece will have equal surface finish showing no or minimum de-

lamination. The narrow manufacturing tolerances make the process

stable, predictable and repeatable.

PCD CHARACTERISTICS

PCD tools for thermosetting plastics and thermoplastics are characterized

by five important features. These are;

1. Sharpness of the polycrystalline diamond results in an improved

surface finish, a good fibre cut and low heat generation. These

benefits minimize uncut fibres and delamination, increase

productivity and improve process security

2. Hardness of the polycrystalline diamond makes the tools more wear

resistant and increases the tool life

3. The accuracy of the PCD tools results in close dimensional

tolerances increasing the reliability, allowing you to reduce

finishing operations

4. The thermal conductivity of the polycrystalline material lowers

process temperatures which enhances product stability and allows

higher cutting speeds.

5. After-sales services: re-conditioning results in a new tool that

increases tool life and reduces tool costs

PCD SOLUTIONS FOR COMPOSITE MACHININGPCD SOLUTIONS

JABRO™- COMPOSITES JPD890 SERIES

FLEXIBILITY

Optimized PCD milling geometry for composite materials

The complete range of Jabro PCD cutters have a special PCD Blade

design that improves the thermal wear resistance. This design allows a

higher feed rate because of its resistance

to cutting force effects. By offering 3

versions of shear angle the direction to

guide the cutting forces can be chosen.

PERFORMANCE INCREASE

Internal through coolant channels

All standard PCD milling tools are equipped with two through coolant

channels. By applying through coolant emulsion the cutting temperature

can be reduced. A lowered process temperature reduces the risk of

melting resin and allows an increase in cutting speed in comparison to

PCD tools without through coolant channels.

Conventional

SECO FEEDMAX PCD DRILLS

FLEXIBILITY

The new range of PCD drills have a special 120° drill

point design that can be used in various applications.

In addition, customized tools are available upon

request. For example: chamfer drills, double point…

PERFORMANCE INCREASE

One of the strongest benefits with PCD drills is their

ability to cut for long periods of time without needing

replacement. The stock standard PCD drills are

without coolant holes. The standard 30° helix angle

secures the chip/dust evacuation. The sharpness and

the excellent dimensional tolerance of a PCD tool

improves workpiece quality in terms of surface finish

and hole tolerances. Resulting in long tool life and

an increased yield. The full potential and value of

PCD drills over conventional drilling can be seen in

enhanced productivity and tool life.

For full cost efficiency when using PCD tools, a reconditioning service is

available for all Seco PCD tools.
