revew call as oldworkers on the rNEARLY two out of five companies are

planning to review their employee ben-efit packages to ensure they are suit-

able for older workers, research for

MetLife Employee Benefits shows.

The study found 37 per cent of em-ployers are planning to review theiremployee benefits package to meetthe needs of older workers while 17per cent have already done so. Morethan half of employers questioned are

anticipating a rise in older staff as aproportion of their workforce.Government figures confirm the

trend – in the three months to April2014 there were 1.128 million over-65s in the workforce which was 10.1per cent higher than in the same pe-riod of 2013.

A report from independent pensionsexpert Dr Ros Altmann, CBE, spon-sored by MetLife, has highlighted theimportant role employers play in help-ing people to continue working.
