Overview

• Full HBL will be from 8 April till 4 May 2020.

• Students will be required to do about 4 to 6 hours of HBL per day.

• All the important information on HBL can be found on our school’s website.

Daily RoutineStarting the Day

• Login to Google Meet everyday at 7.30 am for FT time • Be ready with your thermometer to take your temperature

• Be dressed in Fuhua-related top

• Greet your form teachers

• Every Monday and Friday, there is morning assembly at 7.30 am –Principal will address the school via YouTube Live (the link will be shared in Google Classroom by 7.30 am)

• The class will continue with FT time (Google Meet) after the live feed

• Follow daily timetable for the lessons (the timetable and HBL lesson plan are uploaded in the school website)

• Complete all assigned work

• Check your school’s gmail account

• Check the updated details of your subsequent day’s timetable at 8.00 pm (The HBL lesson plan will be updated on the website)

Expectations (baseline)

Students are expected to:

• be punctual for all lessons

• be present for the lessons (physically and mentally)

• be properly attired with Fuhua-related top

• be respectful to your classmates and teachers at all times

• be prepared with all necessary learning materials

• identify a conducive spot in your home

• inform your teacher when you are not feeling well

Assessment

• Throughout the period of the full HBL, you and your teacher will playan active role in assessing your learning progress. So it isimportant to:

• complete your assigned work by yourself,

• work out a schedule to complete the assigned work and

• seek clarification from your subject teachers using Google Classroom or throughemail

• Remaining Weighted Assessments in Term 2 will be cancelled

• School-based oral examinations and the MYE will be cancelled. Theweighting across the remaining WA and End-of-Year examinations willbe readjusted

• If you need to be in school (with valid reason) during this full HBL period, you can inform your FTs and seek their assistance on this.

• Students can contact Education and Career Guidance Counsellor, MrTan Chia Boon ([email protected]) if they require related assistance.

Familiarising the Home-Based Learning Processes

• Issue: Students are unable to find invitation to the Google Meet

- Inform other students in class / subject groups

- Inform teacher via Google Classroom – request that the teacher resent an invitation/code

Or

- Request from other students the name of the Google Meet created by the teacher and key in the title to join

• Issue: Students has not joined Google Classroom for some reasons / Keyed in class code to join but the code is ‘invalid’

- Call the school ICT team at 65004227

- Request that you be invited again to Google Class

- Check email to retrieve the invitation and join the class as ‘Student’

• Issue: Students cannot remember the password / account locked due to repeated attempts at logging in (SLS/FHSS email)

- Carry out a password self-reset first (next slide)

- If you require technical assistance in a reset, contact the ICT Office at 65004227

- Key in the new password once you manage to log-in

- Write down the new password for ease of future log-in

- Information about password reset is available in the HBL Students’ Guide on the school website

How to do a self-reset for SLS?

- Click on the ‘Forgot Password’ link on the log-in page

- Enter the email address that you had keyed into the SLS profile page

- Access your email and click on the link sent to you by SLS

- In SLS, enter your new password and record your new password

Self-Reset for FHSS email

How to do a self-reset for email?

- In your email log-in page, click ‘Forgot Password?’

- You will be asked to enter the last known password used

- If unable to carry out self-reset, contact ICT Office at 65004227

• Issue: SLS down time and frequent log out from SLS due to ‘lag’ / slow in response on SLS

- This is due to the large number of users on SLS

- Be patient!

- Try to log into SLS after a while

- Inform your teachers about this matter on Google Classroom if you are unable to log in after numerous attempts – Do not keep quiet about this!

Things to Notea) Practise good personal hygiene and be socially responsible at all times

b) Build up your immunity by sleeping well, eating healthily and exercising

c) Monitor your own well-being for fever/flu-like symptoms e.g. temperature taking twice a

day

d) If unwell, wear a mask, see a doctor immediately and don’t doctor-hop

e) Interact only with those in immediate household. For relatives in other household, can connect

virtually to maintain the social connection

f) During the period of FHBL, stay at home.

i. Go out of house only to buy essential supplies.

ii. Don’t have gatherings or trips to public places (eg malls, gathering at void decks,

playgrounds, parks) after school, weekends, public holidays.

iii. If really need to go out to buy essentials,

a) Avoid crowded places and peak timing (eg when buying food).

b) Wear a mask (government is giving every resident a re-usable mask).

c) Maintain 1m safe distancing when interacting with others
