Before accessing Google Meet

Access Student Learning Space (SLS) to find the URL to Google Meet

Click on the URL link to join Google Meet from Chrome/Safari Web Browser

Before Accessing Google Meet

Ensure that you have logged out of Google accounts from your device’s browser

Select your profile at the top right-hand corner of your screen

Click on ‘Sign out of all accounts’ button

An example of the meeting link

URL: meet.google.com/abc-defg-hij

We recommend using Google Chrome - copy the

entire URL link which includes the meeting code into your web browser

Google Meet code is located at the end of the meeting URL link

What if Google Meet doesn’t start automatically

on your Desktop /Laptop

Allow Google Meet to access your device’s

camera and microphone

Select “Allow” option on the notification prompt to continue

If you do not receive a prompt

with this notification,

proceed to the next step

Turn on your web

camera, speaker volume

and mute your

microphone

Enter your class index

number and full name

e.g. 11TanLayLay

Wait for your teacher to

admit you to the

meeting

Click on the ‘Ask to join’ button in Google Meet

Turn on captions:

Show the text

(transcription) of

the conversation

Other settings such as changing

the layout, full screen view and

select camera, microphone and

speakers. Adjust quality of the

Share what

• End Google Meet - Click on the

'Leave call' button to end the

meeting

• Turn On/Off the Camera -

Ensure that your device

speakers are switched on and

enable your webcam – Also

ensure that your camera is

turned on throughout the

session. Otherwise, the teacher

may remove you from the

meeting.

Access Google Meet via Apple

IOS Devices, iPads or iPhone

Open Safari Browser >Type https://meet.google.com

Note: You will be redirected to the page above, DO NOT click ‘OPEN’

Open Google Meet in Desktop Website Version

Select the “AA” button on the top left corner of the Safari browser

Select “Request Desktop Website”

Before entering a Google Meet Host meeting code

If a Google account is already signed in, sign out from your Google accounts

Exit your Safari and restart your browser to repeat the previous steps as

stated in slide 9

Tablet or Phone

Before Joining a Google Meet Host Meeting

If you are signed in using an existing Google account, sign out

Exit your Chrome and relaunch your browser

on “Desktop Site” mode

Select the option tab

“three dots” at the top

right corner of the

browser

Select Desktop Site mode

Join Google Meet with Host Meeting Code

Type

https://meet.google.com

Click “Use a meeting code”

Enter your meeting code

provided in the URL link on

the SLS lesson
