Reshaping Fujitsu - Reshaping IT Rolf Schwirz will present the main keynote of the Fujitsu Forum 2011. He will outline how Fujitsu helps customers reshape their business by reshaping their IT. He will particularly focus on the challenge of cloud computing and the question of how to bridge today and tomorrow. Rolf Schwirz will give clear insight into some of Fujitsu’s future technology, service and solutions innovation milestones.

In addition to his leader-ship of Fujitsu’s Central Europe, Middle East, Africa and India sales region (CEMEA&I), Schwirz holds worldwide responsibility for the Fujitsu PRIMERGY server line.

Rod Vawdrey will join Rolf Schwirz on stage. He will present a broad overview of Fujitsu as a global innovation company striving for human-centric IT that helps create an intelligent society.

Rod Vawdrey, President of the Fujitsu Global Business Group, FujitsuRod Vawdrey joined Fujitsu in Sydney in 2003. In 2011 he was named president of Fujitsu’s Global Business Group. He is charged with directing Fujitsu’s businesses outside of Japan and expanding its presence abroad.

Kizuna - The Bonding Power of ICT and Lessons Learned from Japan 11/03 Satoru Hayashi will describe how his country is recovering from the disastrous earthquake that struck Japan in March of this year and will describe the role ICT has in that recovery process. He will show how to create bonds by using technology. He will also present a concrete example of the human-centric intelligent society.

Reshaping the brain: The impact of 21st Century Technology on Learning, Thinking and Making DecisionsSusan A. Greenfield explores how the human mind might be being changed with current and future technologies. These change processes are diverse. Ideas for innovative software are suggested that might minimize the threats and maximise the opportunities posed by social media, computer games and search engines. Finally, since biomedical technology is enabling an unprecedented life expectancy for humanity en masse, she will address the issues related to having a healthy second fifty years of life.

Baroness A. Susan GreenfieldSusan A. Greenfield is one of the best-known scientists in Great Britain, gaining notoriety in 1994 as the first woman in 165 years to deliver the traditional Christmas Lecture at the Royal Institution. Since then she has been a household name. The list of her achievements is quite impressive, and she is a member of the British House of Lords.

You will not want to miss the keynotes. The presentations will be held in the auditorium with capacity for an audience of 1,600 people – and they will also be broadcast live to large video screens in the foyer of the ICM.

Rolf Schwiz will wrap up the keynote sessions by describing his personal impressions of the Fujitsu Forum with a summary of his experiences and discussions with customers, partners and industry leaders. In his remarks he will put Fujitsu’s new strategy into perspective, showing how future-centric solutions can reshape IT today as well as tomorrow.

The CTO Visionary Session On the second day of the conference the keynotes will begin with a presentation fromDr. Joseph Reger. He has invited key players in the IT industry to discuss the role of IT today and in the future, with a focus on current technologies and their impact on tasks in IT departments.

Pawlowski, Intel Senior Fellow and Chief Technology Officer for the Datacenter and Connected Systems GroupPawlowski led the design of the first Multibus I Single Board Computer based on the 386 proces-sor. He was a lead architect and designer for Intel’s early desktop PC and high performance server products and was the co-architect for Intel’s first P6 based server chipsets. He helped define the system bus interfaces for Intel’s P6 family processors, the Intel® Pentium® 4 proces-sor and Intel® Itanium® processor. He also created and led the research for Intel’s agile radio architecture.

Chiseki Sagawa, President Platform Strategic Planning Unit, FujitsuMore than 25 years at the forefront of global ICT industry, Mr. Sagawa has led many projects such as software development, global strategic alliances, and entire Fujitsu’s server strategy planning. He was the pioneer for the Fujitsu Global Cloud and now isresponsible for the platform strategies of Fujitsu.

Reshaping for Breakthrough Innovations The final keynote will be presented by a mega star: Garry Kasparov, the world‘s best champion-ship chess player of all time and one of the founders of Solidarnost. Garry Kasparov will explain which moves can improve decision-making in the business world. He will address the big and important decisions that lead to breakthrough innovations which change the way we live.

Garry KasparovGarry Kasparov became the youngest ever undisputed World Chess Champion in 1985 at the age of 22. He continued to hold the »Classical« World Chess Championship until 2000. He was the world‘s number-one ranked player for 255 months, holding this title longer than any other player in chess history. He was a candidate for the 2008 Russian presidential race.

The use of biometrics in the enterprise has been much slower in coming, but recently the investment case has begun to swing in favour of commercial deployments in both staff and custom-er facing systems. The benefits from biometric deployments are fairly universal: improved security and data protection compliance, coupled with an ability to reduce costs through automation. This presentation examines those areas of commercial life where biometric systems are becoming increasingly commonplace: customer contact centres, time and attendance systems, password management and logical access control. We also consider how biometrics might be affected by the trend of the moment, cloud computing.

The use of HPC is also a vital tool for industrial competitiveness, not just for large companies but also for small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs). In this session we will describe the evolution of the K Computer and Fujitsu’s initiatives for promoting open engagement with the computational science community. The HPC Wales Project will be used to illustrate how HPC can promote regional economic development.

The Green Data Center project is one of the core strategic research projects of Fujitsu Laboratories. The project’s principal target is to achieve tangible power reduction.
