OUTSTANDING LEARNERS OF THE WEEK
Class R Halia for finding so many different ways to travel in PE this week. Great ideas!
Class 1 Bobbi for consistently being kind and helpful to everybody and for working hard.
Class 2 Ashton for great effort during guided reading and being able to identify nouns, verbs and adjectives in the story.
Class 3 Isla and Freya S for their terrific care and attention to detail in creating their ‘Heather Galler’ style animal paintings.
Class 4 The whole of Class 4 for a brilliant sharing assembly.
Class 5 Sol for his outstanding improvement in presentation and Connie for her excellent ‘defeat the monster’ story.
Class 6 Tabitha for her really good mental arithmetic skills in Maths this week.
On Friday 14th October, the whole school enjoyed a second Eco Day of the week. The children took part in four activi-ties in their house groups looking at differ-ent aspects of biodiversity, which links with our Animal Magic quest work. Key Stage 2 classes looked at the life cycle of bees, went on a mini beast hunt, made bird feeders and learnt about compost. Key Stage 1 made compost bins, made leaf prints, hunted for different species of plants and insects and played bug bingo! We all had a great day and are looking forward to seeing how the biodiversity of the school grounds continues as Autumn takes hold! Mrs K Smith
We would like to remind you that from January 2017 the school office will no longer be accepting cash or cheques (except for uniform) and
other payments must be done through ParentmailX. If you have

Class 6 sports festival at kingsmead On Wednesday 19th October class 6 went to a sports
festival at Kingsmead. We did many fun activities which
included: Ultimate Frisbee, Bench ball and tug of war!
We were split into our houses and the groups were
called: Doughnuts, Unicorns and Hodgehogs! All the
groups went to different activities. Bench ball was the
favourite!!! They changed the rules from how we nor-
mally play but we soon got the hang of it. Ultimate Fris-
bee improved our skills on how to throw a Frisbee.
Thank you to all of the sports leaders and adults who
organised this wonderful event! by Florence and Charlotte, Class 6.
House Flag Design Competition
The School Council are running a competi-
tion for the children to design a flag each
for our four school houses: Horse Chest-
nut, London Plane, Cork Oak and Blue Ce-
dar. So get your thinking caps on and get creative! Please
hand in your design to the school office or Mrs Calnon.
The School Council will be
running a cake sale on Friday
4th November after school.
This is to raise money to cre-
ate a ‘quiet area’ in the play-
ground. We would love donations of cakes please! If
you can donate, please bring cakes in to the school
kitchen on the Friday of the sale. Thank you!
