KANSASCITY,MO---Today,leadersfromUnionStationwelcomedGiuseppeFinocchiaro–ItalianConsulGeneral–toourbeautifulcityandhistorichome.ThespecialwelcomeincludedwalkinghighlightsoftheStation,followedbyatouroftheNorthAmericanPremiereofPOMPEII:TheExhibition,presentedbyBankofAmerica.Duringhisvisit,ConsulGeneralFinocchiarotooktimetomeetexhibitionguestsandhelpshareinthecelebrationofthe100,000thEXHIBITIONVISITOR.Additionally,theCLOSINGDATEOFMONDAY,MAY29THwasannouncedasStationofficialsemphasizedwhatarareopportunitythisistoseenearly200preciousandancientartifactsonloanfromtheNaplesNationalArchaeologicalMuseuminItaly.“WhataterrificmomentforKansasCityandallinvolvedthismorningatUnionStation,”BobRegnier,UnionStationBoardChairman,said.“POMPEII:TheExhibitionisaremarkableeducationalexperiencethat’sattractedguestsofallagesfromthroughoutourcommunityandacrossthecountry.TheItalianConsulGeneralwasgraciouswithhispraiseofourcommitmenttopresentworld-classculturalexperiencesthatnotonlyshareimportantworldhistorybutalsoconnectpeopleonapersonallevel.”POMPEII:TheExhibitionmadeitsNorthAmericandebutinKansasCityonNovember19,2016inUnionStation’sBankofAmericaGallery.Andfromopeningday,theexhibitionhasbeenembracedwithoverwhelmingenthusiasmbyguestsofallagesandinterests. “Aswithpreviousworld-classexhibitionshostedbyUnionStation,Pompeiihasbeenremarkableinitsabilitytoconnectwithguests,”GeorgeGuastello,presidentandCEOUnionStation,said.“We’vehadguestswho’vetraveledtoItalyandtouredtheruinsofPompeiitellustheUnionStationexhibitiondeliveredmorecaptivatingcontentandtoldamorecompleteandimpactfulstorythantheyrememberfromtheirvisittotheactualsite.That’sawonderfulvalidationandacalltoactiontothosepeoplewho’venotyetvisited.WithourannouncementtodayofMonday,May29th(HolidayWeekendofBankofAmerica’sCelebrationattheStation)astheclosingdayofthisexhibition,we’reexpectinganevenbiggersurgeininterestandattendanceduringthesefinalweeks.Pompeiihastrulybeenarunawayhitandfurtherbuildsonouralreadystellarinternationalreputationwithinthetouringblockbusterexhibitioncommunity!”
