If you are new to dancing or want to improve your skills, Indy Dancers is your best bet. We are one of the few clubs around that provides professional dance instruction by two of the Midwest’s top award-winning dance instructors, Scott and Yulia Shook. During every club

meeting, these outstanding lessons are provided at no extra charge to you!! On Oct. 3,, we offer an hour-long workshop on Waltz. As a fabulous member benefit, this complete session is bargain. For the regular admission price, Scott and Yulia will teach basic technique, intermediate moves and introduce advanced steps. The first five members (excluding board members and officers) to mention this column to me will receive free admission to any one of our dances. You definitely want to be a part of this workshop because the following lessons this month will build on what you learn during the workshop. Be sure to check out the calendar page for the fun activities ahead. Oh, let me give you a heads up on a couple of our special events. Our Thanksgiving pitch-in dinner dance will be catered in part by Jonathan Byrds!! Our Christmas party will be spectacular this year. Mark your calendars NOW for Dec. 5 at the Greenwood Moose. The Starlighters Band will be back, along with dualing DJs. And the food will be catered by Jug’s. We will have the ballroom decorated so well, that you won’t even recognize it!! Financial Report

The meeting was called to order by Pres. Carl

Dankert at 8 Seconds. He explained that

membership must vote on changes to the bylaws

according to Article 4.

The proposal put before the membership included

changing dues renewal to the month of payment.

In other words, a member who joins or renews

their membership in July would renew the

following July. This allows everyone to enjoy a

full year of membership.

A motion to accept the proposal was made and

and seconded. The bylaws change was approved

by voice vote.

Carl also reminded the club of the upcoming 50s

party, Sept. 19 at the Eastside Moose. Wear your

poodle skirts and rolled up jeans for a fun party.

Ice cream will be served.

A motion was made to accept the August financial

report, which was seconded and approved. Carl

called for a motion to accept the secretary’s

report, which was seconded and approved.

The meeting was adjourned.
