Flight Track Mobile User Guide 

ATP’s Flight Track Mobile (FT Mobile) is a mobile-optimized web application that provides real-time aircraft status and MX reports, and processes data required for student training progress, flight records, instructor fees and overdue aircraft alerts.

Normal Use

1. Flight list: Upon opening the FT Mobile page (https://atpintra.net/ftmobile) you will see a list of your scheduled flights for the day. You can use the navigation buttons at the top to see flights from yesterday and tomorrow. You can also use the “Show checkrides” button to toggle between viewing flights and viewing checkrides. When checkrides are shown it will list the flights for the training center to which you are assigned.

2. Block-out - Changing Aircraft: The aircraft assignment can be changed directly from the Flights page by clicking the N-number link. The user will then be able to select a new aircraft from the dropdown list.

3. Aircraft Status: Save time and avoid flight cancellations by getting a status check message before you walk out to the aircraft. This can be done directly from the flight list page. Click the “Check MX Status” button next to the tail number in the flight list page. The button will then change to show one of three maintenance status types.

● “Available for preflight” will be displayed in a green box if the aircraft is available for preflight.

● “MX Reports” Will be displayed for aircraft with known maintenance reports, and will list the report(s).

● “DO NOT FLY” will be displayed in a red box if the aircraft is assigned to Maintenance and not to be flown.

4. Block-out: Aircraft should be blocked-out upon

reaching the aircraft and when ready to begin the preflight inspection. This alerts others that the aircraft is in use. The process begins by clicking the ‘Block-out’ button for the appropriate plane/lesson.

Note: Block-out is not required for checkrides or crew cross-country flights when you (the instructor) are not in the aircraft. Block-out is required for solo warm-ups.

5. Block-out - Enter Hobbs Times: When

blocking out the aircraft, enter the “Out Hobbs Time” and the “Off Hobbs Time” as shown on the aircraft Hobbs meters. This will save the times for the duration of the flight so that they can be sent with the “On Hobbs Time” and “In Hobbs Time” after the flight.

6. Block-out - Select Duration: Confirm the Block-out duration on the Block-out screen. The default duration is four hours. If a change of duration is required, click the ‘Change Duration’ button. Otherwise, click “Block-out”.

Note: After block-out, you may receive an advisory about limited time remaining before the next scheduled inspection. If such a message is received, verify the current Off/On times with the Aircraft Equipment and Inspection Guide and Maintenance Logs to ensure flight can be completed using the remaining time.

7. Block-out - Changing Duration: If changing the

duration, a page presents the user with a menu of three preselected Block-out times. Click the desired duration to finalize the Block-out.

8. A/C status: The Block-out screen will display the

maintenance status of the aircraft.

● “Available for preflight” will be displayed in a green box if the aircraft is available for preflight.

● “MX Reports” Will be displayed for aircraft with known maintenance reports, and will list the report(s).

● “DO NOT FLY” will be displayed in a red box if the aircraft is assigned to Maintenance and not to be flown. The Aircraft Information page can be displayed by clicking the N-number link.

9. Complete Block-out: To finalize the process, click the ‘Block-out’ button.

10. Block-out confirmed: Once the aircraft has been blocked-out, a green check with “Success” will appear with block-out confirmation, N-number, duration and time-stamp.

11. Renew Block-out: If a departure is delayed or a Cross Country flight is being resumed after a refueling stop, the user must click the ‘Renew Block-out’ button when ready to depart in order to reset the Block-out duration. Once the renewal has been confirmed, a pop-up will display indicating that the process is complete. Once the process is complete, a green check with “Block-out Renewed” will display as confirmation.

12. Block-in: After shutdown, enter the ‘On’ and ‘In’ hobbs times and verify or update the arrival airport to match the current location of the aircraft.

13. Block-in Processing:. The system will process the entry for a few seconds. During that time, you will see this alert.

14. Block-in Complete: Once the process is complete, a green check with “Success” will display as confirmation.

Incomplete Eval Flights

Eval flights must be graded in Whiteboard, even if a flight does not occur. In such cases, the user must send a Flight Tracker at the start of the ground portion, but cancel the flight portion for the appropriate reason (e.g. weather, or unsat performance on oral tasks). These cases must be handled like a checkride discontinuance or failure after the oral by sending a zero-time Flight Tracker, where the Out time equals the In time and the Off time equals the On time, as shown on the airplane hobbs meters.

Canceling A Block-out A Block-out can be cancelled by clicking the Cancel Block-out button.

Entering Maintenance Reports at Block-in Maintenance reports can be entered in the ‘Maintenance Report’ field on the Flight Tracker Block-in screen. The Block-in button will change to reflect that the user is blocking in with maintenance reports. Click the Block-in [With Mx Report] button and the maintenance report will be submitted along with the flight times. Once the process is complete, a green check with “Success” will display as confirmation.

A maintenance report can also be entered for any aircraft without filling out a flight tracker. To start this process click the “Submit MX Report” button at the top of the flight list page. This will bring you to the “Send Mx” page. To start the process select the plane for which you would like to submit a maintenance report from the dropdown list. When you select an aircraft its current status will be displayed toward the top of the page. Enter the maintenance issue in the text box, then press “Send Mx Report” to send the maintenance report. A maintenance report can also be sent via SMS message to the Flight Track SMS Number (404-994-5388) using the following format: N-number of the aircraft, space, “MX”, space, description of the report. A sample text message looks like: 344d mx Bald spot on left main tire Verify that the system responds with an acknowledgement.

Solo Flights Solo flights will display a “Solo Time” field that must be completed upon Block-in.

Crew Cross-Country Flights Instructors must teach cross-country students to complete a Flight Tracker A/C Log upon departure and arrival. When the students call Flight Ops upon arrival, Flight Ops will request the flight times from the form.Instructors will not enter the Flight Tracker A/C Log data for crew cross-country students. As a good operating practice, you should train your students to text ATP SMS for an aircraft status check before departure.
