HPIRSHigh Performance Inertial Reference System

Over the last 40 years, Thales has developed navigation and inertial systems for a broad range of commercial, military and space programmes. Thales is now introducing a new solution that integrates the best flight-proven technologies within a modular, flexible architecture.

Already chosen by various Customers, this IRS based on PIXYZ® gyrolaser in-house extended production capacity is derived from military avionics system, commercial air transport solution and regional avionics system, matching the high level of performance, reliability, availability, support, maintainability and price of the commercial air transport requirements for a military use.

OPERATIONAL CAPABILITY AND OPTIONS Designed for very low RNP (<0.1 operations) - 100%

worldwide availability RNP AR APCH. High level of performances under mechanical

constraints. Primary flight & Flight Path Angle computation directly

from probes or airdata units. Secure position versus undetected civil and military

GNSS Signal In space failure with high level of integrity.

Various possible alignment modes: in-flight, in motion, stored…

Simsoft function in order to simulate complete navigation chain.

HIGH RELIABILITY AND EASY MAINTENANCE Fully compliant with new environmental conditions

associated with carbon-composite fuselage. New design to increase life span of tri-axis ring gyro-

laser. Autonomous inertial sensors calibration . Advanced monitoring algorithms to facilitate deferred

maintenance. Explicit BITE messages. Radio Frequency Identification tag (RFID) for logistics

aspects. Operational software and databases uploaded

onboard using Ethernet A615A protocol.

LOW OPERATING COSTS Increased dispatch reliability. Reduced fuel consumption, emissions and noise. Optimised traffic management in congested areas. Enhanced operational efficiency. Simplified installation.
