The Holy Father’s Intention for February
This is the year to become more merciful in our own lives and bring God’s mercy to others. Divine Mercy Parish and the Diocese of Sacramento will help in assisting our parishioners throughout the Year of Mercy.
Questions to ponder this week:
Adult: What are some of the ways in which you can show the mercy of Christ to your friends and family this Lent?
Youth: When have you shown mercy to a friend or classmate who is hurting?
Walk through the Holy Door of Mercy, spend some time with our Lord and pray:
The Apostle’s Creed The Our Father The Hail Mary The Jubilee Year of Mercy prayer Pray for the Holy Father and his
intentions for the month.

For the Jubilee Year of Mercy, Bishop Jaime Soto has designated 12 Pilgrimage sites. Paired with the sites is either a Corporal or Spiritual Work of Mercy. Partial and plenary indulgences can be earned for both pilgrimage and/or practice.
Faith without works of mercy is dead.
What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if you say you have faith but do not have works? Can faith save you? If a brother or sister is naked and lacks daily food, and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, keep warm and eat your fill”, and yet you do not supply their bodily needs, what is the good of that? So faith by itself, if it has no works, is dead (James 2:14-17).
If you plan to make a pilgrimage to one of these sites, it is recommended that you call one week in advance to schedule a time to visit. Afterwards you will receive a sticker of the pilgrimage site to place in your passport either from the pilgrimage site or here at Divine Mercy Parish.

Sacred Heart & Divine Mercy Devotions Ministry
Enthronement of the Sacred Heart or Divine Mercy
A ceremony where Jesus is invited into your home and is given authority over your family or household.
A ceremony that takes place in your home as an act of homage offered to Jesus Christ, King of Love and Mercy.
A social recognition of the Kingship of Jesus over the home.
An event where an image of our Lord’s Sacred Heart or Divine Mercy is given a place of honor in the home.
What is Enthronement?
“I will reign through My Heart, despite Satan and his agents” - Our Lord to St. Margaret Mary of Alacoque
Why is it significant to Enthrone an Image of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in the home? The request is directly from Jesus Himself.
He told St. Margaret Mary of Alacoque that He would bless each home where a picture of His Sacred Heart is exposed and honored.
As the family or individual receives Jesus in the Eucharist at Holy Mass, Jesus desires through His Image to remain present spiritually in their home, “the domestic church.”
The image of the Sacred Heart is more than just a picture. It is meant to draw us toward God and enlighten our soul with the Divine Truths.
“If anyone loves Me, My Father will love Him and we will come to Him and make our home with Him.” - John 14:23
“Welcome the presence of the Heart of Christ, entrusting your home to Him. Seek to draw from His open Heart the saving, healing love that is so necessary for families today in order to build a civilization of love.” - Pope St. John Paul II, 1995 The Church in America
Families or individuals interested in having the image of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus or Divine Mercy enthroned in their homes, please contact Flora Cabrera (916) 515-1791, Kathleen O’Rourke (916) 548-0805, Cita Basco (916) 425-9477 or Hedy Cruz (916) 500-8337. There is also a binder in the Narthex with application forms which you could fill out and submit at your convenience.

True intimacy means sharing who we really are with another
person. We have to move beyond the clichés in conversation and get beneath the surface which involves taking a risk because in doing this, our weaknesses and imperfections will be made
known. Matthew teaches practical ways to share ourselves more deeply with those we love and change the way we approach our relationships forever. This CD and other titles are available at the CD kiosk located in the Narthex for only $3.00.
The 7 Levels of Intimacy
Looking for some peace and quiet in your life?
We have a Holy Hour at 3:00 pm every Friday. We expose Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament. Pray the Chaplet of Divine Mercy and then have silent prayer and adoration until closing the hour with Benediction. All are welcome to spend an hour in silent renewal with Jesus.

help every day. Last year, through your generosity, our parish contributed $43,276 to the appeal. Our 25% parish share was used in 2015 by the Angels of Mercy who provided assistance to more than 250 needy families.
